Late Night Lycett was a good opp in the right direction - I could see him having musical performers if it went on longer; was Kind of a gayer TFI Friday, but NO, cancelled after two series :wownic:
 


I loved this in Lockdown too, she's just so likeable.

I remember - Janet re-posted it in her stories saying she was honoured/liked it! - it was the black and white version originally posted! Well her or who has her Socials
 
In 2001 even though I loved 80's music Five Star sort of passed me by, when i heard this on her GH :disco: I think her version is good, too!

Stuck In The Middle obviously did really well for her (and remains her second most played song on Spotify, bizarrely) but I would have liked to have seen how that Slightest Touch cover would have gone down. It’s a less remembered song for starters, so might have felt less karaoke.

How is it bizarre? It's one of her biggest hits, and the original is huge on Spotify (nearly 800m streams), which must help drive some streams its way, particularly when you're talking about songs with relatively low play counts.
 
True, it is fairly explicable. It’s just very far from the first song I’d think of when it comes to Louise’s initial run as a pop star. But then I’m very much a loon fan…
 
I seem to remember she did Stuck in the Middle with a live vocal on TOTP which I was shocked at
 
Oh as much as I don’t really rate it, I was DELIGHTED by how well it did at the time! It was clearly a savvy choice to launch her Greatest Hits album in that regard.

If memory serves, it’s her longest runner on the UK singles chart. Definitely in terms of the top ten.
 
No it was "Beautiful Inside"

Just listened to it again and it does sound a bit dated now, but it packs a bit of OOMPH. I always felt her solo stuff was a little "light", so that turned my head when it came out. The video was good too if I'm not mistaken.
 
I always remember Shaz Bags calling Louise "the original Britney before Britney" when giving her moment-freezing verdict about Beautiful Inside on a short-lived Sky One music show that I have convinced myself was co-presented by Tess Daly and Dane Bowers (but cannot find any evidence of on google).
 
Louise is gracing the public with her presence at some HMV signings in Birmingham, Manchester and London this weekend. London are also getting an acoustic performance and a Q & A so sounds quite enjoyable really.

I did order the album, I was buying a book on Amazon and added the CD in as I’d a £10 Amazon voucher from work so got the album for 53p essentially. Hope I’ve helped propel her into the top 10.

 
I’m really worried that this album is just going to tank at #47 or something. The material is great, she’s clearly doing everything she can, but even compared to Stretch and Super Magic, the streaming just isn’t there :(
 
Her streaming sales are absolutely going to be minimal, but surely she can shift a fair few thousand on pure sales?

Last week the #5 album sold 7.5k, #10 5.5k, #18 4.5k, #25 4k, and #53 2.8k.

I guess it just shows how a relatively small number of sales can make a big difference in terms of chart position, and the perception of the album being successful or a flop.
 
Heavy Love sold 6,017 copies in week one and the Greatest hits 5,755, both to land at #11.

So hopefully the quality of the material will have kept that core onboard for a similar number, so it’ll just depend what else is out and doing equivalent numbers that week. For someone at her level, working on a clearly limited budget, I don’t really know what else she could have done.
 
I can't imagine Heavy Love or the GH did any business on streaming. So whether the new album bombs or sharts, I don't think streams will be the distinguishing factor.

She's at #75 on Apple Music albums too, which all things considered is probably a pretty decent showing?
