Louise - Confession (single) + Confessions (TOP TEN ALBUM!)

I've never heard of Banquet before this thread. Just had a look and chuckled at the fact that the signed copy of both the CD and vinyl are ONE WHOLE PENCE more than the unsigned versions :D
So Banquet do limited runs that are announced on release week and are personally signed (basically, like a meet and greet without actually going to one) and they've created a little market for themselves working with artists who are happy to go down and spend a few hours doing the signings.

Similar to Blood records who have created a huge market demand for limited edition runs of albums that on the whole sell out in minutes, it's just finding a niche in the vinyl market and tapping into stan collector culture.

Yeah that’s definitely a great result. It’ll always get slammed when the final two days streaming get added at once but surely she will hold top twenty.

The Kylie-swallowing album is tighter than her 90s tummy. Her peak product will remain some of her 90s singles for me, but this is an unexpectedly airtight outing from her - her most essential studio album IMO.

In other news, Manifesting seems to have taken off on streaming faster than any of the pre-release singles so far.

(We’re talking strictly relatively here, her numbers remain very poor but it’s been growing day on day and hit a high of 24k daily streams on Tuesday)

Why are there no videos for this album?? Assume is a money thing but surely you can get something pretty decent done on the cheap. It makes the era feel a little LACKING

They aren’t worth the money. She’s got visuals for the songs and enough for reels and TikTok’s soooo…

So despite my protestations I was tempted by the super deluxe acapella edition. I haven't listened to those hot exposed Lil Lou versions yet but Crush offers up the lyrical bon mot:

I've got a CRUSH ON ME

She’s pulling out the big guns with her celeb contacts today

I was visiting my mother and spotted some hot Confessions promo on the front of her Women’s Weekly magazine.

Tirelessly targeting every potential punter and purse size, is our Lou.

Again small victories I know, but this is the first time I've ever seen her streams go above 100k on Spotify.

The first album is still gone. I’d get it if she had switched labels, but I’d assume it was owned by the same people as the next two.

Same happened to WIM a few months earlier. Must be some licensing thing that needs renewed.

Seriously though, how great. To be getting a top ten 29 years after her first is fantastic.

Hopefully that’ll be enough to secure a small tour. This album really deserves one.
