Hang on let me re-record the entire podcast episode where we were talking about it being in the top 10
 
Our Lou has marched straight onto insta to plop up a list of chart positions such as record shop chart and sales chart where she is top 10.
Lets declare this a top 10 album :disco:
 
Hurrah, managed to bag a free ticket to press night of Grease tomorrow so she’s bound to turn up to that one. Otherwise I’d be inclined to say she’s emulating her idol Jancel Jackson a bit too much.

Finally seen Louise tonight. Oh my she’s vocally improved over the years. Really quite impressive!

Also I realised I was sitting in front of Michelle Heaton.
 
Predictably outside the top 100 in week two, but it is #36 on the sales chart (down from #4) which is actually higher than Sophie Ellis Bextor’s second week.

We have to take our little victories where we can find them I guess.
 
Is Steve_UK still ALIVE? I’m assuming not or he would have been in this thread like a tramp on chips.
 


Maybe they could tour as Eternal on their own the way Denise from Five Star is performing as Five Star without the others. They could bring the backing singer to do the hardest bits just like she did here, though to be fair they both sound fine.
 
As much as I love Louise, its not really Eternal without Easther. I think its great she includes the songs in her live sets and re-imagines them but not sure I'd want to see her and Kelle on tour personally. I am sure other's would though.

True, I saw Sister Sledge last year and whilst they were very good it was all nieces, cousins and even a nephew with basically one member left.

My favourite is Don't Ever Change which is a duet with a man who sounds like Lee Ryan and it has twinkly Jam & Lewis-esque kind of production FLOURISHES, or at least it reminds me of some Boyz II Men (!) stuff they did. I really like it but that doesn't mean it's good

Lil' Lou is a perky little acoustic guitar pop thing that sounds like loads of other things that I can't bring to mind right now. It's an 'I'm so great' song: "100 million naked girls outside your window babe, no I'm not worried - nothing else is better than this." Really quite BLAND but I like it

Make It Fit is a SEX JAM. "You make me drip" and so on. Not great.

Slam has this stop-start metallic production, quite annoying but there is a sexy sounding man saying SLAM so I do feel it's the precursor to modern classic STRETCH

Bounce Back is just the Stacie song again obviously with that jittery r&b production of the time. At least it's not a God one.

All these are different to the original versions that were recorded and i must say i like the original version of Slam better

Love that she's released these. Will give a listen lately I was looking for her version of Bounce Back and while ago

Others I'll be coming back to: DJ Tonka & Hex Hector. The album edit is so mid-90s and I am obviously living for it!

I've always loved ATM, the video reminds me of when my own bursts of MTV were at my granny's and when I stayed over getting up ultra early and putting MTV on immediately - of course ATM was the one!

What a gorge mid-tempo. The voice is a feathery cushion perfect for such fodder. Clean, crisp and succinct disco. My vintage Lil' Lou opinion of her backing vocalists doing all the heavy lifting for her remains true and I'd even say they are a little unnecessarily too high in the mix here.
 
And now we arrive at terminal wig loss euphoria. This has long been an ultimate of mine. Go hard house or go home:



The other mixes are really delivering too (T-Empo, who I know from Dana Dawson and that ultra weekend song they did, plus Heller and Farley's Fire Island Vocal mix).

The PG mix is a Louise eclipse for me.

The Paula Abdul next door had well and truly arrived, slammed the door and said "hi girls". This is quite the thrust of rnb thrush I never knew I needed.

Not enough vocals, but when it bangs it bangs, slaps and throws a fax machine at you.
