Personally I still absolutely adore it. It's a staple of my personal Kylie top ten.

EFFORTLESS would be the best way I could describe it. It just epitomises the kind of thing Kylie does better than just about any other pop singer in the game.
 
Overperformed, definitely not overrated, though...I still think it's very very very good!
 
I don't think she ever looked more beautiful than she did in the video either.

As a teen at the height of my Kylie looning after Light Years I was positively MESMERED :o
 
The vocal is a tad cloying, but it was wonderful to see her look that amazing and a-list (apart from the combat trousers of course) and the production is utterly joyous.

Whenever this was played (and it was a lot) a friend used to point out how severe poor Kylie Ann's forehead was, and how she couldn't open her eyes properly without tilting her head back.

It is a joyous summery song.
 
And what a GLORIOUS 10/10 run of singles it was from this album. I'm glad she didn't pick anything else from "Fever" for a 5th single as NOTHING quite matches up.

Same as with the "Rhythm of Love" singles...
 
Everything about this song is amazing. It's everything I love about Kylie. From the synth and bass to the BOUNCY hook to the video (those yellow heels!) to its light vibe, it's all just perfect. And it has KYLIE smeared all over it.

Isn't it great how we can spend all morning debating which Kylie songs are most important in the general public's view as a group of rapidly ageing homosexuals?

AGREE 100%. We are totally the same KM era.
 
This was one of the only good (pre X-Tina) things about 2002 and reminds me of Series 3 of Big Brother
 
This whole conversation has made me throw "Fever" on the mini speaker in my office and it's proving to be JUST THE TICKET :disco:
 
I was reminiscing last night about that wonderful era around 2001-2003 where every two-bit pop diva was desperately trying to be Kylie.

This obviously peaked with Lisa Scott-Lee's astonishing solo efforts.

It really was a different and more innocent time when the world thought that Lisa Scott Lee was a viable option as a solo artist, wasn't it? :(

Such a shame to think that where KM once led the pack, these days she's reduced to releasing songs that sound like they belong on a flop Madonna album from 6 years ago

Rapidly aging indeed. Especially when SOME QUEENS were just teenagers when this song came out.


Either way, this song is a total joy. Like a "How Will I Know" for the 00's (I'm only doing this comparasion because the other song is discussed now).

It's worse than that, there are prominent Moopy posters today whose age hadn't even reached double figures when this song came out. :D
 
The last tour killed this for me (in a bad way). A mash up with "Can't Beat The Feeling" was the ultimate demonstration of how Kylie has rerecorded the same song repeatedly in the last ten years.

Gosh I hated Les Folies.

At least with "Sexy Love" she's finally got it right (again). :disco:

To be fair if Kylie had recorded that it would be like 1000000000000 times better. There's something that Kylie brings to fluff like this that makes it amazing. She has the perfect pop voice.

Was always one of my faves and is a great pop song, but for some reason time hasn't been kind - I think the production is very much of its time. Her edgier stuff from the same era (CGYOOMH, Slow) has aged much better.

At one point I might have called it my fave Kylie song but I don't really listen to it any more.
 
I LOVE Sexy Love. But it is just a continuation of the same song over and over again. As long as she limits it to once per album I have no issue with it.
 
"Sexy Love" combines elements of "Love At First Sight" with "Sweet Music" which is why I love it so.
