The album isn’t all my thing but that Guardian review title is stupid I don’t think their reviewers ever do proper background on artists.

I like La Fine, Bla Bla Bla, Timezone and Gossip so far.

And you know what? They are right. Have had no desire to go back to any of it after my first listen.

That Pitchfork review is pretty harsh and it's their fault for having high expectations for an album by none other than Måneskin.
Why can't they just take them for what they are? A highly camp band whose music stands out from the current mainstream hits, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're bad; there's been literally hundreds of bands that play their own instruments and don't make a cultural statement, they're here to have fun.
They've worked with Max Martin FFS.

the fact that their music "stands out" doesn't mean the album is bad per se, but the fact that the music is bad does mean the album is bad. that review is a lil' iconic.

I care not for Måneskin, but that just reads like rockist snobbery from some old fart to me. How dare they play guitars and be popular but not be Nirvana or Sonic Youth?
