setlist SPOILERS

Vogue (the rap part)
new song with Sabrina (more or less in full)

hope that backing track is cranked UP :disco:

Does this mean we're getting a new Madonna single this weekend? Paws up little Madonsters!

they shot a video together, it's a full blown back-and-forth duet apparently.

it’s about the dynamic between artists and the public; why choose this life if you’re going to be faced with such scrutiny from all sides? What are you doing it for? Is it for you? Is it for them?

Sonically it’s a late 80s/early 90s house track in the same vein as “Good Life” (either a direct sample or interpolation, but the similarities are there regardless) and “Vogue”

Will she nail the rap part?

Depends on how much you believe she sings live live generally. MDNA Tour was probably the most likely.
even for her shows where the vocals may be lipped to a pre-record in various places, she records a new vocal for that. but Vogue has often been the original studio take, no? on various live album it stands out for that.

Remember the live albums are often overdubbed…

Sticky and Sweet I feel had a new pre record.

It was lipped to the studio version for Blond Ambition and The Girlie Show back in the day for sure.

OT: She got so much shit for lip syncing the Blond Ambition tour. The Sunday press was full of it at the time. She only actually lipped Express Yourself and Vogue, though- which both had ridiculous choreography. Oh, and Now I’m Following You…but that wasn’t hidden and was obviously meant to be that way.

There was more argument she should have lipped MORE considering some of the vocals once her voice went to shit mid-tour :D

It sounded weak at first but on second listen, not bad. At least it’s more of a proper song than yesterday’s effort. I remain a bit unconvinced, but let’s see…

"Wow. What fun."

I listened to the new song twice and I'm still not sure what they are singing in the chorus... "bring it on"... "bring the love"?

Like a Prayer still has that amazing lift.

full perf is actually very good - she does a little of Get Together a capella and Like a Prayer is fantastic

she's fully live on LAP and sounds great I think. also how she's talking during the spoken word confirms she has no lisp or affliction.

Bring Your Love with Sabrina sounds like a miss though. very flat chorus. maybe it's just the live setting.

I thought the Sabrina song sounds like a sugary bop. Nice difference to the opener/not a singal/first single/fun for the intro track yesterday.

Like a Prayer looked magnificent too :disco:

Need to watch the whole performance again properly

I'm not really feeling it based on the performance either. Hopefully it pops a bit more in studio form.

"Sabrina... have you got something to say about it?"

*mumble mumble*

omg. there were rumours that Rochelle Jordan has a co-write on the album. apparently Bring Your Love samples Doing it Too :o she's getting the bag!!!

The Sabrina collab sounds like it will be good, but I’m never a fan of debuting songs live.

Yeah me too. It's so hard to hear the production - which sounds phenomenal.
