MAD FRIDAY!!!!1!

I wasn't too fussed, I've really struggled to motivate myself the past few weeks, but yesterday I really got back into working. I managed to write a press release which is something I'd normally dread and got cracking on the design of the whitepaper we're releasing. Woke up excited about working on it and full of ideas. Way better than sulking and not getting anything done. Although I'd have preferred this at the start of the week rather than the bank holiday!
 
In the office. Nowt to do. Not one person in here can be even vaguely fucked.
 
Nearly 10 o'clock and so far I've accomplished nothing. I fully intend for the rest of the day to follow a similar trajectory. Play a bit of Dragon Ball, watch a rubbish film, treat myself to an Irn Bru WKD if I feel like having a mad one later.
 
Just done a Joe Wicks workout as well. He's obviously a lovely boy with good intentions but he's starting to get on my tits a bit.

Might do a big Oasis thread and then ban everyone who doesn't appreciate it with a positive post.
 
Went to Asda yesterday morning (20 minute queue to get in) and Tesco this morning (45 minute queue to get in) to try and get what Asda didn't have yesterday (milk, flour, antihistamines, dog stuff). Got the dog food and biscuits and antihistamines but no flour and the milk only came in 4 pint bottles. I've been trying for flour for nearly a month now so I popped to the corner shop on the offchance they'd have some. They had loads weighed out £1 for a kilo, obviously from a big sack they've split down but I think that's brilliant and the fact they haven't marked it up loads like a lot of shops are doing means that everybody can afford it and there's plenty to go round. Once again I've been saved by the corner shop.
 
Managed to get a little temporary job that gets me out of the lockdown and should be going in for training soon, except HR are being QUITE ANNOYING and sending me one email at a time explaining what’s wrong with the references I gave. If only they just sent one email with all the requirements I could have started now. It’s as if they don’t even want the staff.

A lot of similar stories around our way. The small stores around here have all been mint - fair pricing, refusing bulk purchases way before the supermarkets did. But it's only the bad stories that circulate. About 70% of which are invented by racists anyway.

Flour really is the new BOG ROLL! Super markets here have run out of flour as well, it seems like everyone is making their own baguettes now!
 
Back home we had to abstain from alcohol up until a few years ago. So it was always FISH and dry. In memory of that I have started on the wine at 11 am.
 
I can’t get flour for love nor money and we don’t have a corner shop here. :evil:
 
I just got a lovely big bag of strong brown bread flour from Sainsbury’s and the shelves were full of all other types except white bread.

We have a weird, property supermarket sized Sainsbury’s in town no one is going to. Drove to 4 supermarkets this morning and all queuing out the door but Sainsbury’s had literally 5 people in it. It’s turning into a right BOON for doing my weekly shop.
 
I wanted to make a simnel cake, and an Easter nest cake. Oh well it will only get us fat.

I remember it well, and my parents owned a pub which we lived above. The amount of people they had to turn away on Good Friday looking for a sneaky whiskey was unbelievable.
 
Waiting outside Aldi for Mr Ag. Really good chance to observe the local wildlife in their natural habitat, but in an unnatural situation.

Nice to know HR departments aren't letting a little thing like a national crisis get in the way of their punishing adherence to processes they make up as they go along. Where will you be working?
 
I remember someone trying to explain to me when I was wee - I mean about 4 or 5 - why it was called Good Friday when being crucified and dying didn't sound to me like a good day, let alone one to revisit annually. And yes, I was a bit precocious.

A local hospital, just helping out with admin work and a few other things to keep things running smoothly with everything that’s happening at the minute.
