It is rather amazing they haven't started selling Madonna-branded fingerless gloves. She'd make a killing.

Opening night...
It's opening night!
It's Madame X's latest show
Will it flop or will it go?
The cast is taking its final bow
Here comes the audience now
The doors are open: they're on their way...
Let's hear what they have to say!

What she did to pop tunes
Booth did to Lincoln!

I'm actually perched for this. Let's hope it's more Girlie Show (which would have made a brilliant theatre show) than Tears Of A Clown!

So the set list is 12 Madame X numbers, 1 cover, American Life and then basically the usual suspects- LAST NIGHT I DREAMT OF SAN PEDRO again, anyone? :D

Not even the much mooted Rescue Me made it.

Money well saved if you ask ME.

Unconfirmed rumours also circulating that there was a BRA RAFFLE and a quick round of PIN THE TAIL ON THE DONKEY :disco:

Have they photoshopped her face from 15 years ago on to her body now?

Why do Instagram posts never load for me on Moopy?

3 outfits in total (pirate, that blue one from above but with her actual face and another one)
No sets to speak of but stellar lighting
22:45 start time, 00:45 end time
Seats going for $45 in the hours before
Lourdes is in one of the video sections :disco:

ROLL UP ROLL UP

@Suedey do you have any of the t shirts? I ordered the One Two Cha Cha Cha t-shirt months ago, but the medium has been out of stock. They've offered me a small or large instead, but I wanted to know what the fit of the t-shirt was. If its tight I'd go for the large, but if its regular fit I'm sure I could squeeze in to the small.

Big decisions.

LOLs!

The tour really has done so much damage to me. I was totally back on Team Madge but this money grabbing WANK really has pushed me the other way.

Still, here’s hoping for a last minute £45 ticket :disco:

Hoping there’s a groupon deal for this

I could be doing with a good eye roll

Eye rolling? I don’t think so. Thing is, she’ll be good. She is good live! I would probably have a lovely time if it wasn’t such stupid money and an uninspired set list...

I think we always knew it would be a very Madame X heavy setlist, no? She seems very into this project so it was never gonna be a hits + cherry picking affair a la Kylie's KMO tour.

Madonna fans 2 months ago: “OMG Madame X is her best album in 20 years!”

Madonna fans today: “OMG she played TWELVE SONGS from that shit?!”

:D

Not from me.

It is her best album for 14 years, but do we need TWELVE songs from it? She’s only ever done five from Like a Prayer for fuck’s sake!

I think Madame X heavy would be better if the rest wasn’t just the SAME OLD SHIT. Bar American Life, there’s nothing there we haven’t seen time and again.

I hadn’t even properly paid attention first time around to the fact she did “oldie but goodie” Human Nature AGAIN :D

How many songs from Confessions did she do on the tour for that album? I seem to recall a lot.

A quick check suggests 10.

Again, quite a lot, but at least what surrounded it was interesting- first time we had a straight Like a Virgin in years, You Thrill Me, Lucky Star, Drowned World, Paradise (Not For Me).

Plus the Confessions album itself contained four actual hits...

The Lourdes stuff is pretty striking

I'm sure I saw reports saying the London dates were now something like 90% sold out. Although I can't remember the source or how reliable it was.

And yes, exactly this. I'm over arena concerts. And I still really like Madame X. So this ticks all the boxes for me, other than costing about 200% more than I'm willing to pay to see her.

I thought the prices were to combat the fact that she’s playing smaller venues and still wants the same revenue as an arena tour, but the number of dates suggests she still wants to play to a huge number of people. It looks exhausting.

No way is it even close to 90% sold in London. 3 dates show as "Low Availability" (the opening night and the Saturdays) and all the rest have got plenty. The Brooklyn dates tell a clearer picture as it shows you a seat map of all the unsold seats. There's loads every night, especially towards the end of the run.

I don't know if there's going to be a huge press blitz once this has had a couple of nights to bed in in New York, but sales definitely need a kick up the arse. Of course, she was doing her usual trolling last night of not making any money on the tour, but that's pretty standard these days for her :D

I have the Madame X long-sleeve shirt (with the glasses & trenchcoat look), size M.

Everyone seems to have had problems with their Madonna.com online store orders but I had all my stuff delivered in time.

There'll be more merch on sale at the tour and I think there's more on the online store as well...

I just glanced over to Wikipedia to check out the set list and I have to say OH MY DAYS :D some people will not be pleased!

Especially after a GLARING OMISSION (and its from Madame X to boot!) shocking as it was a surefire hit and a crowd pleaser

Where are those stats from?

And how odd to have 15 figures, all divisible by 4. I imagine statistically that's rather unlikely.
