I think the photographs are good. They are different. Not massively touched up as seems to have become the norm for her.
 
I mean Lynne Perrie's Secrets of the Street is quite the book. But basically she got sacked for something half of actresses do now without anyone batting an eyelid. Mainly because they actually can't bat an eyelid...
 
Sorry but I really like this. If anything, just for being something different for her instead of the usual lingerie, grills and crucifix gimmicks.

Nadia Cohen was a good photographer to work with. She does that camp-ish 60s direction that works well with Madonna.
 
my only critique is that this feels like a shoot that Nadia would do with anyone rather than a concept specific to Madonna. but after years of dreadful Steven Klein shoots... I'll take it

I feel the same. She does mostly very cartoonish work that comes across as a bit juvenile and shoehorns whoever she's got into it. But it does work better with Madonna than most of her other subjects.



 
Also, younger (and older) pop stars wish they had this kind of versatility. Most of them just wanna look pretty and 'fierce' in editorials.

I believe the YSL event is tonight and the film screening and Q&A is tomorrow
