MADONNA REWATCH PARTY #1: Blond Ambition Tour & Truth or Dare - 10th April (19:00 BST)

I still think the juxtaposition of the heartbreaking "I wonder what she looks like now...just a bunch of dust" to her brother being entirely uneasy and unable to deal with it to her childlike "they're going to bury me sideways" to, finally, "I don't wanna stay here anymore" is one of the most eyeopening things here. She entirely reverts to childhood.
I love that scene so much but Chris' HATEFUL BOOK ruined it for me when he referred to it as her 'finest acting performance' (or something like that.)

Yeah but he hated her. I took that with a pinch of SALT.

I always found it interesting how the throat doctor would mock her and she didn't care? Did he know her? Or was he just that comfortable around her?

IMAGINE SOMEONE DOING THAT NOW!

It's such a shame the way modern eyes will look at Oliver, I think. Strike A Pose did a lot to redress that balance, I feel.

You have to realise this was set against a backdrop of AIDS hysteria. The "gay disease". Gays were vilified and hated and she was one of the few mainstream stars to embrace the gays.

I was too young to appreciate it quite as much as perhaps some could, but she is SO important to the acceptance of gay people generally and gay culture RIDICULOUSLY.
