And judging it nearly thirty years on is never going to be fair anyway.

For some cultural perspective, Don't Ask Don't Tell was just about to be implemented.

So far both shows appear to be really of their time. Having been saturated by disco wigs and hot pants, that section looked really cheap, but it's definitely not fair to judge it so harshly 30 years on

In fairness, it was a massively expensive show for its time. But 30 years on, of course it looks cheap.

You have to remember they are stadium shows too, which makes a difference.
 
The Beast Within may well be in my Madonna top ten. Top twenty for sure.
 
That was terrible, there'd better be an absolute banger now or I'm offski.
 
I am not much for hamfisted interpretive dancing but the rest was MARVELLOUS
