I’m more surprised that Laura Ashley was still kicking about

Carphone warehouse actually did have some good deals, even if it was like stepping in to a car dealership

Indeed. Ours closed a couple of years back and I guessed it was long gone everywhere.

In a strange reversal of usual practice, it’s turned into quite a successful pub now.

Ours still existed and had been in the same place for as long as I can remember. Always a sale on. Not necessarily for me, but they had some cute stuff.

54 of 70 YO! Sushi branches will permanently close from now due to Coronavirus.

That’s both shocking and a disaster. I presumed they were doing really well.

Permanently?! Jesus!

Considering what a mind boggling mark up they have on actual Japanese food, I was surprised :o

what’s next?! Pizza Express went too, Eurovision... if Nando’s goes then I don’t know what I’ll do

Wow. That's disaster recovery measures - keep a small number of stores and rebuild from there.

Where did you see this? I couldn't find it this morning...but then I guess no one is reporting ANYTHING

I always find Yo Sushi a bit overpriced for what it is

Oh Yo Sushi is VERY overpriced, but they usually accept Blue Light card or the suchlike, which means my other half as an NHS worker gets 50% off, and makes it really good value.

The sushi itself is ok rather than great, but that's what you get with a chain.

I think it was hidden away in a Guardian live blog.

I hope my "local" (not local but where I go to cinema) stays. It's always packed and I quite often get takeaway.

Pizza Express still exists.

I'm not mad about it. It's nice if I'm in a shopping centre or wherever but there's none nearby and I don't feel like I'm missing out.

I have to wonder how much money they can lose when they serve dough balls for the best part of a fiver

Brighthouse DEAD

A hideous company, but obviously bad news for the employees.

Cath Kidston so soon after Laura Ashley? Where on earth will I buy a floral apron now?

Where will I buy my mother overpriced gifts?

I'm sure they'll stay online.

Twitter being very mean about Cath Kidston. It'll be one of our favourite retailers soon enough. After all, do you think HMV will survive empty stores for 3 months?
