Wait is Percy Ingles DEAD?!
Didn't they NOT LONG AGO make the one on Broadway Market ALL FANCY and pastel coloured to accommodate the tastes of the LOAL CLIENTÈLE :shock:

What a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!

I didn’t know Delice de France was an actual shop :o I always saw the trucks driving around, I suppose I assumed they just supplied baguettes and je ne sais quoi to Co-ops and stuff like that

Oh they do the latter as well. I for one always purchase with confidence from the lovely stands at those outlets, knowing that the goods are authentique, baked in France and certainly not hotted up out the back
 
Their bread pudding was quite pleasing but I HAVE had better (and larger) up North

This would actually be very bad for me because most of my shoes are from Evans because I have Krusty the Clown's feet ( :( ) and I get a lot from Dorothy Perkins tall range. It would leave me with Next and SimplyBe :gross:
 
Ugh :( I've always been FOND of Dotty P's since they make clothes for people with HIPS AND AN ARSE, unlike most shops
 
I've text a friend to say I have my fingers crossed for him. He says it's been going on months but it's difficult to know what's the truth as the press hates him. He's also laughing at him "scrambling" to get £30 million when he's a multi billionaire.
 
TopShop was my first proper job. It was quite exciting back in 2001-03 when I was there. I got to work in a couple of the flagship stores which was quite thrilling.

They were talking about it on the news the other day, saying that they had fallen behind the likes of Zara in terms of their web offering, and didn't have a team that were as on the pulse fashion wise as they used to be.

I think it seems that the youth now wear a lot more branded sports stuff in particular, and a lot of them are happy to go to Primark for the rest.
 
When I was a teenager I used to have to go FURTHER AFIELD to dress like a nu-rave wanker because the local high street was all chavvy sportswear shops.

Who knew Chatham high street was just ahead of the curve :disco:
 
I had a bright yellow pair of skinny jeans that I wore with EVERYTHING even though they went with NOTHING.
 
I still have a tshirt from Topman from about 2004, it’s just for slobbish around the house but it’s comfy and is so limp now that it never needs ironing.

That's why no-one will front him. He won't take on any personal liability for paying it back and they're scared it's a BHS situation where he'll take the £30m and then appoint the administrators.
 
The only good thing about Topshop is they’re a Quay sunglasses stockist.

Sad for the employees and a generation or two facing empty high streets but I’m hopeful their collapse (the high street, not Arcadia) will eventually lead to the rise of independent stores taking their place and creating unique and individual market towns.

That’s if the building owners and their extortionate rent prices don’t just turn them into flats.
 
Debenhams officially DEAD then.

I only ever bought Jasper Conran photo frames in there for people I didn't know what to buy them. My friends whatsapp group is insisiting the big one in town used to have a cinema screen and would have birthdays upstairs but I don't remember this AT ALL. My birthdays were more likely to be held in the McDonalds.
