Someone call a nurse because I need multiple sutures. Those intergalactic Imperial-era MSG live vox on Make It Happen have left me scalped, my bussy (@Jark) in shreds, not to mention the other countless abrasions! Your fave could NEVER (except yours @dUb!)
 
I always kind of paid Make It Happen dust until a few years ago when I embraced it, especially in live form. My favourite obviously being the appendicitis-inducing MTV Unplugged rendition, with that double-piano accompaniment as The Legendary Ms Carey runs all over it.

It's a very Aries anthem: get what you want and bulldoze everything in your way. We have to stan.
 
And as we're re-exploring the Emotions era, let's get ONE thing straight. This may have been the "flop" of her Imperial era, but I would argue that it's her best collection of songs pre-Butterfly. She leaned much harder into soul & disco here, and it paid off with timeless songs, which she clearly still adores. The atmospherics of Can't Let Go, Till The End of Time and The Wind are just sublime.

And what I wouldn't give for an Extended early 90s remix of You're So Cold. Those vocals.
