the album leaked ahead of release next fri. most of the songs have annoying tags... Princess of Power and Final Boss connect in a very fun way. sonically and thematically. some of the other new songs were good and some questionable. I need it out on Spotify like right now!

This is very good! Ancient Dreams was a return to form and this carries that on but all the more HOOKY

First listen standouts are Metallic Stallion, Everybody Knows I'm Sad (do I hear a sample?!), and I <3 You.

Loving this today. Feels like a fun evolution of her sound. I don't understand why 'Butterfly' was chosen as the lead single though when there are so many songs on here that are much more enticing.

"Je ne sais quoi" is stunning. There's something VERY Eastern-soap-opera about it.
"Everyone knows I'm sad" is begging to be on a huge teen drama Netflix series.
"I <3 YOU" is catchy af handbag pop. The "Is it something you LOIKE?" is so fucking camp

I'm quite obsessed with Rollercoaster today. heavenly chorus. really enjoying the approach to the self-love/discovery theme across the album - it's clear she's found herself and there's a lot of joy here.

God this album is excellent. I’m still not sure if it’s my favourite of hers but the quality is up there and it’s so joyous! Cuntissimo, Princess of Power and I <3 You are all up there with her best work, and there isn’t a song I dislike.
It’s almost full to the brim with hooks. I find myself randomly humming half the album throughout the day.

The Family Jewels is still her best album. She's been trying to find other ways to be every since and I guess we have to thank the heavens that "Love & Fear" was a phase because fuck me, that album was BAD.

I'll pick this up at some point.

My Marina trifecta will remain Family Jewels / FROOT / Electra Heart

But yes this is definitely yet another positive step onwards from Ancient Dreams (quite good) and Love & Fear (largely dreadful.)

I can't really rank her albums. Froot has the biggest concentration of Marina classics, but some filler too. Electra was the most solid front to back until this one/her best "concept", but Ancient Dreams also had zero stinkers. TFJ has some truly great/career defining songs and some quite awful!

I'm just really happy she has her mojo back and I know Princess of Power THE TITLE TRACK is already one of her best ever, along with Cupid's Girl.

I fucking love her so much!!!

I'm in full stan mode on this album. I think it may end up being my favorite album of 2025. There isn't really anything under 8/10. I'm loving both singles now, especially Butterfly (yet another layer to my username emoji) which has really beautiful verses.

Maybe I'm late to the party but I just realized how referential she loves to be. That's why so much of her writing feels so on-the-nose. She's the queen of POP PASTICHE - which is still cringey but it's also beautifully camp because she's so committed to it. I <3 YOU is camp glory from start to finish - song, video, and lyrics.

10/10 album. Helped me appreciate her even more.

I was out of the UK when this came out so didn't give it enough attention, but what an album. A strong 9/10 for me.

Current non single fave is Metallic Stallion. The only one I skip is Hello Kitty, which is a vast improvement on the last couple.of albums. Even Butterlfy has grown on me.
