To be honest, a friend of mine whom I’ve know for 12 years is supposedly a massive fan of ballet and has now “cancelled” Chalamet over this… only in those last 12 years she has only actually been to the ballet TWICE. That’s not really sustainable.

Good. I’ve never liked him. Dating a Kardashian really does seem to rot your brain. Besides, we apparently needed the 2026 version of Karla Sofía Gascón. It couldn’t have happened to a more fitting celeb. Now let’s see if someone asks something equally problematic to that guy from Heated Rivalry everyone’s suddenly obsessed with

The opera and ballet queens can get a grip. It's one man's opinion; plenty agree and plenty don't. It feels like a chunk of the outrage has been performative too. I LIKE THESE HIGHBROW THINGS AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW etc
On the flipside: this past six months or so have really put me off Chalamet. He doesn't come across especially well and his styling right now is dreadful.

I suspect the FURORE comes down to exactly three things.
1) lil Timmy has shed his indie sad boy A24 cocoon and emerged an annoying broey butterfly, and people have been poised to get mad at him.
2) it's a good trend for opera and ballet people to jump on on the socials to get some eyes on their never-ending productions of THE NUTCRACKER.
3) Oscars fans were spoiled for MESS last year and now have to manufacture it to feel alive.
