Oh wow ok, this month I've randomly got into an album by a band which has the bassist from Cocteau Twins in it, I obviously need to check out Cocteau Twins

love the BREAKTHROUGH of warmth and sunshine Teardrop represents after two aggressively dark and oppressive opening tracks. that riff coming back in near the end is joyous.

One of them wanted her and I'm certain that the record label did! If she ever did record the vocal, I've not been able to find it through a quick Google.

I'm having a less immediate moment with the darker/harder tracks compared with the warmer, softer songs like Exchange. which was also my experience with Dummy

this one is such a nice summery VIBE. quite straightforward by this album's standards.

I’d go with Hooverphonic now just because I know them better. Interestingly they did a cover of Unfinished Sympathy.

Exchange has really odd credits. The only two credited writers wrote the Isaac Hayes song which it samples, but one of their widows refused clearance for the sample. It turned out that the sample itself was an ad-libbed outro by Hayes and he gave clearance for it, but he doesn't get a writing credit.

These sync listens are a lot easier when you can just queen out over the songs rather than having to try and sound intelligent.

Dissolved Girl, with slightly more aquatic production, could easily be a Ray of Light track. is that just me? I hear that.

I love the sound of mid-late 90s electronic production, that blurred with/warped around pop melodies and pushed the boundaries a bit.

This is a cover version of a Paragons song, who were the same people that recorded the original version of 'The Tide Is High'.

It's also the same vocalist as 'Angel', just for Iguana.
