If Soldi is still here, I wonder if he's going to go back and listen to 'Risingson' now.
 
The screwed up the sampling clearances on 'Black Milk' and got sued for it. They somehow convinced themselves that no-one would notice even though more than 90% of the bassline and drum pattern were identical.
 
Back to the sinister sounds from 'Risingson' and 'Inertia Creeps'.
 
Apparently, the name of both the album and this song are because they were trying to create a feeling of being in two places at once, with one being reality and one being rather more exotic.
 
We should probably warn Jark that the next song actually is 37 minutes long and it's not just the drugs.
 
So I had to go and sort something out they couldn’t wait and ended up missing about two or three songs! I’d rather listen again in one listen over the next few days instead of jumping right back in at the middle!
 
Group Four is building to something quite glorious as it goes on. very into this FOREBODING UPTEMPO GROOVE that's casually losing its SHIT.

The last two minutes 'Group Four' are just incredible, but they need the first six to build the platform for them.

This is a good closer. Chills things back down nicely after the occasionally anxiety inducing nature of some of the other tracks.

I think it's meant to be there. This song was largely the work of a guy who ended up leaving shortly after the release of the album, which I suspect they knew was on the cards, and the static was symbolic of him getting up and leaving the decks.
 
it was an interesting one, I feel like this is the kind of record I need to be in a specific mood for in order to really appreciate it and find my standouts. really enjoyed that hour of sound though
