I haven't seen any of the previous two (or any Mia Goth movies as far as I can recall) but this looks good. Is it a narrative trilogy then?

This will be a direct sequel to the first film, X, whilst the second film, Pearl, is a prequel.

X is a fairly average slasher with some pacing issues, but Pearl is fantastic. Mia Goth is a STAR.

I spent the final two thirds really wanting it to GO UP A NOTCH and dazzle me, which didn't happen, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Considering the time period and story it really could have been a bit more fun/camp though.

I thought the killer reveal was satisfying, and it looked great. Beautiful Moses Sumney was underused

Elizabeth Debicki was essentially playing Diana still.

I preferred it to Pearl, but didn't enjoy it as much as X.

Yes I thought it could have ramped it up and gone balls to the wall with the finale and it felt like the first 30 minutes just keep introducing new characters before the plot even got going, but it was still an enjoyable romp. Didn't top Pearl for me though.

She's literally from the UK and thinks THAT'S what someone from a 'North Yorkshire council estate' sounds like?! God forbid they actually hire a real working class northern person

Oh god yes! Absolutely terrible. Thankfully our exposure was mercifully short.

Watched this tonight and really kinda loved it. Not seen X or Pearl, but was with a friend who has seen both and generally disliked both. He hated this too, but I just had a great time… he thinks I’m just biased towards the grubby 80s aesthetic, which may be true, but I can’t help it.
