Okay so
My least favourite of the wraps but I didn't hate it. Fairly standard katsu sauce. I think the off-putting thing for me is that the sauce is COLD. In hindsight to be expected as the BBQ or mayo or whatever are always cold and for those it's perfectly normal... but it doesn't feel right for a curry sauce.

Do they just make more effort in Europe? Well, in some places at least. I remember the one near the Spanish Steps in Rome was beautiful. And the one in the square in front of the Pantheon is always my TOP TIP to anyone going there to get a tourist view without eye watering prices.

Whereas all the ones I've seen in London have been the same old shit they are everywhere, if not worse.

I remember it just felt a lot cleaner and nicer, and all of the packaging was fully re-usable. Even the little nugget boxes were a sort of rubberised plastic that you put into a little bin to get cleaned rather than throwing away a bunch of greasy cardboard.

I'm sure I'll be getting well acquainted with the ones in Switzerland this May, given the eye-watering cost of eating anywhere remotely mid-high end there, so hopefully it'll be similar.

Yes, now that you mention it I think it being cold is why I found it so repulsive

I wasn’t a fan of the one at COPENHAGEN TRAIN STATION post-final.

I assume they have Nordsee in Switzerland? That's always my first choice of fast food whenever I've been in Germany or Austria.

Although admittedly not much use if you don't like fish.

Well let's face it, the Danes are probably second only to the Brits in terms of being ABSOLUTELY FERAL on a night out, so that's not much of a surprise. :D

But yeah, I think I prefer Copenhagen's overall vibe/liveliness, but it's nowhere near as swanky as old moneybags Luxembourg.

I'm hoping to find somewhere that'll do a nice bit of SCHNITZEL at a reasonable price. :disco:

Danes feral? Somebody's been lying to me. I was told the Scandinavians were the most well behaved Europeans.

I haven’t tried Popeyes yet, but it is on the list. It does look rather good.

I tried Popeyes for the first time the other week as we have only recently got one here. I found it quite mid to be honest, but it was just chicken strips to be fair.

Not too much on KFC! Popeye's is amazing but KFC remains undefeated.

If you fancy an afternoon on the toilet then yes it is.

It does hit the spot on a odd occasion, but I’d rather go to a local chicken shop for that.

Also the better chips and potato and gravy down under can’t be beaten.

My go to order is a McCrispy, small fries, whatever cheese dippers they have going and sweet chilli dip on the side :disco: I’ll sometimes have breakfast when I’m on sevens at work, the cheesy bacon flatbread is FINE, hits the spot when you’re in a rush.

And yeah, there's nothing like NZ fish'n'chips. I've never found NZ 'cuisine' to amount to much but there's something about Hoki that just makes it perfect for the dish.

Oops

Well might as well say I'm lightly drunk and waiting for a McDonalds right now and it's all THANKS to this thread. Will report when it FINALLY comes 🥴

WHAT DID YOU ORDER?

I meant kfc. The chips with kfc in the UK are THIN, not the fat, chicken salted ones we get. It’s mortifying

If you get a good KFC, it's fucking amazing, but 8/10 times it's just lukewarm disappointment. The chips are pretty terrible and it also doesn't travel well.

KFC's chips are way better these days than they used to be. I'm more agog at the PRICE these days than anything else!

We get chicken salted ones here now, at least.

Well, it's a bit like someone crumbled a cube of chicken Oxo over them, if that's what chicken salt is.

I think McDonald’s is great for a quick bite you always know what you’re getting. I like how the menu changes with new items every few months. I’ve been checking mcmenuguide.com lately to see how prices and options differ it’s fun to compare what’s available!!!

I mean I don't get out much, but that's stretching even my definition of fun.

Gone up a lot since Covid. A kid's meal used to be £1.99, double that now. A single hash brown was 59p. Now £2.39. WHAT? You can get a bag for that in supermarkets. I like Icelands smash browns.

Neither does Nandos. Cold and soggy when my daughter ordered it once. Never again.

All very sensible tips. Why don't we bomb all restaurants and replace them with Icelands, and all enjoy sensible Baked Bean Filled Yorkshire Puddings?
