Meghan Trainor - "Made You Look" (THE TIKTOK SMASH OF 2022)

Somehow (TikTok I believe) this is now top 40 on Spotify (would be around early 20s if it weren’t for Taylor) and Apple music and should enter the charts at about #30 this week.

Yeah, Made You Look went in at #28. Her first UK top 40 since No in 2016.

Good for her I guess?
 
I can’t stop listening to it :zombie: I keep hearing it on tiktok and I think it’s going to be a big hit. I found her annoying back when she was popular, but I find her very likable now
 
this one is fine and feels weirdly Christmassy. I think it will blow up. but I will not be a little Trainor truither any time soon.

I liked all the singles from that second album but never bothered with checking any of the albums out.
 
I mean No is a banger and No Excuses is fun. Plus she seems lovely, if annoying.

But Meghan Trainor, as a genuine top 40 pop star, has always seemed like a parody. Yet here we are. Again.
 
got bored with the album so will try again with it later, but it sounded like an album full of "All About That Bass" re-writes. The title track seemed to pop the most.
 
I believe so. Still madness his simply being popular there can cause this kind of chart action for this kind of artist, but good for her.
 
The fact that she needs a Candy Crush sponsor to get a marginal budget these days. :(
 
Up to #4 in the UK this week. Her first top five there since 2015.
 
Her first top 40 hit here since "Me Too" in 2016. Top ten is surely in the cards next.

 
I like her, she always came across really nice - I don’t really like the pseudo Hairspray songs, but Me Too was a bop. Was it a hit in the UK?

I had been tempted to enter it in ASFM once when I felt particularly malignant
 
I don’t think it was ‘properly’ released in the UK was it? Or it was and fairly much bombed?
 
Mad as it is to think of somebody getting that emosh over MEGHAN TRAINOR, apparently she has been very kind to him over the years. Her music is dogshit but it seems like she's a very nice person.

Also Meghan up to #3 in the UK. What’s the betting this grabs the random January number one once the Xmas songs depart the chart?
