Melanie C returns - Melanie C (2020 album & singles)

I’ve just popped the album on, Who I Am is a very very good pop song. If we sent that to Eurovision I’d be very happy.

OMG imagine! I'm curious to see if she'll finish ahead of Roisin or vice versa - Melanie is obviously the bigger household name, but Roisin's campaign has been going on even longer and she's had the higher-profile promo so far with Graham Norton and an inescapable mainstream press BLITZ.

For reference, Version of Me was #25 in 2016, Hairless Toys made #19 in 2015 and Take Her Up to Monto was #41 the next year.

She must have a shot at the top ten. Version of Me didn't do too well, but if Emma could shift 6.5k last year with that attempt at an album, then Mel could be in the 4-5k region I'd say which would be somewhere around #10.

She picked a TERRIBLE week to release if she’s looking for a Top 10 album. Various other reasonably high profile artists released albums yesterday. Even Amanda Holden will probably outsell her.

Apparently was #6 with 3,200 yesterday (pretty much sales only as streaming wouldn't have been counted then).

If true, looks like she may be able to do 5-6k in the end, but I imagine will drop to #15 or so once streaming is added etc.

yep, and she will be super front loaded with the bundles etc so I'll predict #14 with 5k

Here I Am is quite rousing too.

I might buy this album.
I'll buy it at the end of the week if she's on the BRINK of top 10 and reduces the CDs on her store

but if she's ALREADY BOMBING DOWN toward #18 I'll THROW HER TO THE WOLVES and buy ROISIN instead! :disco:

apparently - and perhaps take with a pinch of salt - this is up to #4 in the Sunday mids, with 4.8k sold and just one sale behind Bon Jovi at #3. if true that would suggest she's on for at least 6-7k and probably top 10 by Friday :o

Hold your ponies, Pam. Let's not get stupid.

I may stream her with the volume off, though. And after disconnecting LastFM.

I’m prepared to pay £5 in a “flash sale” on her web store for this should it take place.

Credit where credit is due, she got herself a good team of writers this time to produce actual good pop songs and she got rid of that tedious personality she rocked for years where she was embarrassed by everything Spice Girls related but she got over it and embraced it since the tour last year; her likeability factor increased in spades. She always mentions how YEARS of therapy helped her and she comes across really lovely in interviews I've seen. She deserves all the success she can get and a Top 10 album for someone 20 + years in the industry surely is nothing to be sniffed at.

The CUNT title has got to go to Victoria, unfortunately, she continues to endlessy flog anything with her name using SG references and I bet she flinches every time they bring them up.:emoji_skull:

Victoria is the queen of everything and that's that.

I feel like the chorus of Good Enough doesn't quite POP OFF the way you expect it to from the build-up of the bridge - it promises something that doesn't quite come. Still a decent tune though.

01 In & Out of Love
02 Blame It On Me
03 Overload
04 Who I Am
05 End of Everything

How good is the deluxe track Into You? I think it's my favorite track on the album at the moment. I just can't get it out of my head. :disco:

That’s not on Spotify love

can you let Mel know? :eyes: X

It’s all looking a bit expensive on her website right now :eyes:

Well, they did until you got your mitts on it, I’m sure :eyes:
