Melodifestivalen 2020: Deltävling Three - Luleå

Mohombi was half-way to being decent but then it feels like they decided to stop at 55% of writing the song or something. That chorus. Meh.

I think it will be Mariette and Riverdance tat DTF, Mohmobi and male Violet from Charlie and Chocolate Factory AC.

The rest are surely a bunch of no-hopers :D

Faith making it through by default then, only to finish 5th with a bullet.

It sounds rather nice in the recap. I hope it progresses somehow. If it was her first time performing maybe she'll have better luck with the big notes second time around.

The Mariette song was better than I'd feared; it's definitely better than 'For You'.

5. "Crying Rivers" - Faith Kakembo 733,502 votes (after two rounds)
6. "Late" - Amanda Aasa 534 652 votes
7. "Life begins now" - Albin Johnsén 470 431 votes

Albin's vote is the lowest of the year so far. Linda Bengtzing would've been at least top 5 this week (she got 717k votes on just one round of voting)

EASILY! AC indeed! The Swedish voting public need to realise that, rather than the usual slickness, we cosmopolitan Europeans WANT Riverdance tat! :disco:

It’s never going to happen OBVIOUSLY but imagine the joy if they sent THAT! I’ve not looked forward to the Swedish entry turning up in the semi in YEARS! We all know brave Anna’s doing her best with her magically appearing dancers and what not but we’ve heard it all before! (As indeed has naughty Queen G:son given its apparent similarities to other people’s songs :side-eye:)

Late is a fairly good song, almost a bit of Jessie Ware about it. But poor Amanda really was a complete personality vacuum.

Thanks for everything Faith Elettra. Hope to see you again next year :)

Not much movement in the odds based on last night's winners. Anna Bergendahl remains the favourite, although Dotter and Hanna Ferm are both close behind.

Robin 4th, The Mamas 5th, Mariette 6th and Mohombi 7th.

I really don't see Dotter being a major contender myself. Nice to see so many women dominating the odds though.

Glad to know Felix is not up there. It wouldn't surprise me if someone from AC wins this, like that butch lesbian in 2013.

Are SVT actively pushing for a female win this year or is it just luck how it's unfolded?

I would imagine they'd prefer it. The criticism of how male dominated the results are gets louder every year. (And not just from Kala)

It probably helps that the men have generally underwhelmed this year.

Surely a female victor would be preferred this year, if not actively sought.

Anna seems to be the nearest thing to a winner that we’ve seen so far (although to be honest I think Anna herself is the biggest problem in her own performance), with Mariette probably that most Eurovision-ready (is she ditches the stupid guitar section).

It would be ludicrous is Robin won again (by accident this time). As nice as his performance is, it’s certainly not as striking or memorable as I Can’t Go On (or Constellation Prize :disco: )
