Melodifestivalen 2021: Deltävling One

It was 2008 actually. I tuned in just in time to scream at Sanna going Direkt till Globen and Carola being CAST into Andra Chansen, so it wasn't a total write-off, but WHAT a heat to miss. :(
 
For my first Melodifestivalen, I’ll be disappointed if I’m not disappointed. It seems like a key part of the experience

This will be the first time no Moopers will be at any Melodi or Eurovision event I guess.
 
I have been up and down with Melodi for several years now. It's only essential viewing this year because we're all stuck in.

I'm wondering - did anyone on here go anywhere in 2004 or 2005? I know @Sheena was in Athens in 2006 and there's been Moopy representation at MF or ESC ever since but I'm drawing a blank for the two years before that.

Unfortunately, I think she's now one of those acts who goes on to promote new material that most forget about after the semi-final, instead of trying to win. When she really should be going after that ESC ticket.

My first MF experience following it live was SF2 of Melodifestivalen 2012. I got to experience Mimi Oh coming last, Timoteij only going to Andra Chansen and David Lindgren going DTF. :oi:

What a great introduction that was. :D

I first started watching properly in 2016, so my first would’ve been the Ace/Robin heat feat. Anna getting disqualified :disco:

I’d have started watching earlier had we not had such a dreadful internet connection that made watching an international stream completely impossible :D

My first WATCH was 2007 Heat One - featuring Anna Book hyperventilating her way through Samba Sambero, an utterly forgotten Andreas Lundstedt effort and one of the worst vocal performances in MF history from Addis Black Widow.

Not a golden heat perhaps, but it was enough to make me a lifer. :disco:

The 2008 final was the first one I saw in the Arena, and then I was there again in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

I've decided to try to at least see one of the Heats live next year. I miss Stockholm so much.
 
Long lost poster Toyah recommended MF. I watched 2004, but I don’t think it was the heats, just the final. I was HOOKED immediately afterwards and is the source of my never ending love of QUEEN LENA.

I can’t remember which was the first I went to live. 2007?

From memory it's one of those anxious ones where you go to svt.se/melodifestivalen, but the play button doesn't appear until the start time, so you're never sure if you're in the right place.

I have the SVT Play app downloaded on my Apple Hub, which I ASSUME will allow you to watch live, but I'm not 100% certain.
 
I'm in but not sure if I'll be here - depends if I can get it on my tv first. I can imagine that'll be a faff, unless I cast my phone or laptop.
 
Watching live via the SVT Play app on my smart TV has worked in previous years.

Yes. I distinctly remember your annoyance the year after when several of us went and were handed a golden finals line-up and you were lumped with SDF (not the poster) in Globen. :D
 
I just got the app and it instantly asked me a question in Swedish I didn't understand. Rather than do the logical thing and google translate, I picked an option and hoped for the best. Seemed to work.

Failing that, I'll use the link and have to miracast it I suppose.

I've now wasted 30 minutes trying to get this to work on my tv and the conclusion is that it won't
