Melodifestivalen 2023 GOSSIP OCH BITCHING THREAD

Darin YES, Oscar YES (as long as he isn't coming back for redemption with some drippy ballad), the other two not for now thanks.

SVT have leaked the announcement of some of the acts/song titles in a now deleted photo.

Jon Henrik Fjällgren, Eden and Uje Brandelius the newest names.

Apparently one of the songs will be performed by someone who is more known as a food blogger. :D

The speculation is Tareq Taylor or Oscar's Zia brother Dante Zia are the rumoured performer:

For 2023 I would like:

- CAZZI OPEIA
- Tone Sekelius
- Theoz
- Danny Saucedo (in FULL sellout Tokyo mode)
- Klara Hammarström (in FULL glittered battle regalia + tits out mode)
- Tusse (uncompetitive)
- Sonja Aldén (competitive)
- Mariette
- Hanna Ferm
- Myra Granberg
- Wiktoria
- DOLLY STYLE
- Jon-Henrik Fjällgren AND/OR Aninia
- Sigrid Bernson
- Renaida
- Samir & Viktor (we have waited LONG ENOUGH)
- DINAH NAH
- ACE WILDER (DON'T CARE IF SHE'S RETIRED)
- LOREEN
- ETZIA
- THE NICOLE
Utterly THRILLED to be on track to get a solid majority of this list by the way :D

So how many Y*va-L*nda songs you think we have this year? 🤔
Even though they know SVT loves a full package & concept it's unfortunately still 0.

This year they were trying hard with Sarek, going so far as writing a whole full length album (and ofc sending it's fabulous entirety to Melfest production :disco:).

Oh my god where is this album

They might've even been the Sami act Tobbe mentioned as being rejected in favour of Jon-Henrik.

:disco: at Y&L netting an "almost mentioning" in Aftonbladet!

Both THEOZ and Eva & Ewa are doing high bpm and dancing. THEOZ is keeping to Swedish and is also promising a stronger song with a cool show. Eva & Eva is going for the win this time.

Tone will give us "show, dance, a self confidence boost and a Tone Swedes might not be used to seeing".

Jon-Henrik Fjällgren will sing about missing someone far away (presumably his kid) with Artic North and Adam Woods are bringing the "festival feeling" to MF. Expect heavy EDM.

Heat One

1. Victor Crone - uptempo
2. Twink - ballad
3. LouLou Lamotte - doesn’t really know what her performance will look like, appears to be winging it
4. Eva and Ewa - high BPM
5. Beary Duo - country
6. Tone Sekelius - uptempo, show
7. Jon Henrik - party

Heat two

1. Wiktoria - lots of dancers, uptempo, says this is the most excited she’s ever been, thought I saw the barrel of a gun hovering behind her
2. Eden - just kept banging on about being in the competition
3. Uje - a song about cooking
4. Theoz - same song as last year, but thinks this one is better
5. Maria Sur - song about leaving Ukraine
6. Tennessee Tears - a country song, but more excitedly one gets the impression that after eight years of playing pubs they’ll not be gracious if their big breakthrough is thwarted by some Swedish twink
7. Panetoz - basically more of the same as first two entries

*this is not the running order, but alphabetical by song title

My take on the running order:

1. Eva and Ewa - high BPM, spectacle
2. Twink - ballad
3. Beary Duo - Swedish ploy country
4. Victor Crone - uptempo
5. LouLou Lamotte - Swedish (ballad?)
6. Tone Sekelius - uptempo, show
7. Jon Henrik, Artic North feat. AW - party

or

1. Jon Henrik, Artic North feat. AW - party
2. Twink - ballad
3. Eva and Ewa - high BPM, spectacle
4. Beary Duo - Swedish ploy country
5. Victor Crone - uptempo
6. LouLou Lamotte - Swedish (ballad?)
7. Tone Sekelius - uptempo, show

If Karin senses weakness in Victor Crone and Loulou she'll go for something along the lines of:

1. Tone Sekelius - uptempo, show
2. LouLou Lamotte - Swedish (ballad?)
3. Victor Crone - uptempo
4. Beary Duo - Swedish ploy country
5. Twink - ballad
6. Eva and Ewa - high BPM
7. Jon Henrik, Artic North feat. AW - party

Heat 1 is interesting in that it has a total of four Swedish songs in it which in my view makes JHF almost certain to open or close.

E&E or Victor Crone being seeded into the 1st or 6th slots would be indicators of very energetic or competitive entries as they lack the notoriety to be placed there on name recognition alone.

I suspect Tone would be first out as she represents the success of last year and is uptempo and familiar.
I would too but if Tone is to open it would have made more sense to save one Swedish language entry for a later SF
