Hello all.

I have been up since 5am setting the Christmas table. I am off to collect our food for everyone’s arrival this afternoon. My posting is likely to be sporadic over the next while so would like to wish you all a fantastic and peaceful Christmas. Stay safe, and I shall catch up with you all at some point over the festive Season. Love to each and everyone of you.xxx

Off to work :(

Some GDPR training this morning. Then I'll fanny around the office a bit and hopefully leave mid afternoon.

Tonight dinner with a couple of dear old friends who I have known longer than most of you have been alive.

I*'m in work. Gaffer's back which is actually good news. Hopefully, no-one will want to make any dramz today and we can get out of here hassle-free.

I’m hungover. Today is going to involve clearing up the disastrous mess the flat is in after having 15 people back and apologising to the neighbours...UGH!

Well, the weather today certainly is deeply horrible. Remind me why I didn't take these two days off again.

I’m still hungover from Saturday! Got a few work bits to wrap up, from home thankfully. Then train up to Yorkshire at 4.30pm.

I had capon one Christmas - my sister was living in London so we went to a nearby market to get it. It was awfully good, I have to admit.

We don't really like turkey in our house, breast meat is OK but the rest would go to waste. At least with a capon I get a massive tasty leg to gnaw on but the price has increased exponentially again. Last year it was £30, this year £38 but it's local, free-range and I got giblets with it.

I was 45 minutes late this morning, wish i had slept in until 5pm though

Mrs. Indie has only gone and got FLU so tonight's gathering of friends has been cancelled.

Tomorrow's Xmas eve pub trip is in jeopardy and Christmas Day itself is a bit shaky.

FUCK EVERYTHING

I'm not sure I even noticed rain but apparently there was some degree of flooding here at the weekend.

Working today and tomorrow.

Just stopping for lunch. Got a packed lunch but I fancy a rich hearty festive sandwich from M&S :(

We have a colleague who has worn more and more ostentatious festive earrings as the last 2 weeks have gone on - I'm very fond of her but it's getting silly - she has two flashing wreathes today. I can only imagine that by Wednesday, she'll be sporting a whole fucking reindeer in each ear.

I'm wearing festive reindeer antlers with tinkly bells on today.

Oh, we've got several folk with those on - we have a Poundland less than 5 minutes from the office and I reckon they sold the whole damn stock to us.

Well I remembered to turn off my alarm, but not the routine that switches the light on at 7, so still had the joy of waking up to turn a thing off and go back to sleep.

The last of the presents I need (for now) arrived in the post so... another excuse for party time! (actually the right hand mid-lower region of my torso is making its presence known so should probably rein in the booze a bit. Definitely a couple of weeks dry in the new year I reckon to let things return to their normal size)

Oh gosh festive sandwiches :D You know what to do. There'll be either a bin or a homeless person nearby (not that I'm implying they're one and the same)

I am feeling rather festive, lets see if a trip to Trafford Centre can undo that.

I doubt it, it's a very festive venue at this time of year

Now, I can certainly vouch for a trip to ASDA if you want to kill off the cheer in your heart.

Oooh the traffic jams on the Boulevard, everybody fighting to get in lane at the roundabout lights, driving round all the carparks looking for a parking space ... can't get much more festive than that!

You're a brave man.

Ms Ron just went out and said the shop shops were dead, it was the supermarkets that were busy.

Its only a couple of click and collect items so I should be reet!

Same here. Town centre not even as busy as a regular Saturday, I'd say. But about a dozen people queuing outside the local butcher.

That would seem normal - you can't buy yr festive meat too early.

Is anyone else old enough to remember the year Tesco decided that no-one wanted sprouts any more and tried to sell everyone parsnips and stuff instead? They just ended up with loads of people complaining that there were no sprouts.

I bought the boss a big bottle of pink gin for Christmas. We were divvying up the client presents before we went home and she gave it to one of the office girls who'd seen it on her desk and was all "oooh I looooove pink gin, can I have the pink gin?!". I was secretly furious because I'd spent twenty sodding quid on it and if I'd wanted office girl to have it I'd have given it to her. Kept my gob shut, spirit of giving and all that shit. I ended up with a packet of biscuits and a small box of Ferrero Rocher.
