Kesha was phenomenal. She clocked her target and she shot right at it.

Loreen was shite.
 
Loreen was awful. Kesha waited far too long to bring out Joyride. Dub made me record a podcast hammered.

No lies told here. The crowd for Kesha compared to Ciara was wild. Ciara was such a strange booking for headliner. She has a handful of bangers, but there were about 12 tracks in a row (bar Love Sex and Magic) that the average person wouldn't know. Similar for Jojo I thought, 14 songs and only a few familiar to the most die hard pop fans. Kesha was the absolute highlight, she smashed it, and the atmosphere was electric.
 
I’m not that much of a Kesha fan in general terms but she was brilliant, the perfect headliner to close things off. Didn’t see Ciara.

JoJo did the normal versions of the 3 songs the general public would know, I’ve seen a lot of moaning about the setlist but if people haven’t been streaming NGL (EP) out now that’s their problem!!! Could have done without the ‘Teddy Swims’ (?) cover I suppose.

Other thoughts: VINCINT was great, the most panicky I felt in terms of sheer volume of attendees was during WICKED and while she’s very likeable, Pr*yanka’s music is terrible.

Samantha Mumba did a remix of Second Cherry contender My Way, which she introduced as “a song I released recently”. Less crap but still crap.

I didn't see you at all. :( I was on brand with my ABBA merch on and everything!

Although I was feeling very vocal after Loreen so you're maybe lucky our paths didn't cross at that moment.

I certainly was grateful to her for putting a donk on it in theory, but if anything it seemed to make it even less of a song than it already was.
 
I love Kesha so I knew I was in for a good time, but she exceeded expectations. What a star! I'll definitely be joining the queue for the TITS OUT tour.

Loreen? They should have booked Käärijä instead.

If it was anything like the tour...smoke machine pumping out so much you can barely see a thing. Songs bearing very little relation to the original. Too much from that dull as second album. No charisma, interaction with the crowd. All we got out of her on the date I saw was MANCHESTER shouted out twice.

It remains fascinating to me that Loreen is so excellent at one very specific thing (winning Eurovision) and such a relentless disappointment in virtually all other areas.

More or less, but I had hoped that having to edit herself down to half an hour might mean doing a tighter set and cutting out some of the wankery.

Turns out that’s the stuff she kept in.

We decided against seeing her, but a friend did. When I asked him about the gig, the first thing he said was 'well being able to see her would have been a good start'.
 
Loreen isn’t an act you hire to mime along as some gay presses play on a tape recording of their one hit song; she is an artist. At Hoopla she showed she was an artist perfecting their craft - familiar, but bold enough to share pieces of their soul not yet revealed. It was one of the greatest sets I’ve ever seen.

I do wish she would recreate her seminal Jag Är En Vampyr performance at a gig though, even just once. This video is one of my favourites - the other artists are stunned into submission as she creates yet another otherworldly experience.

 
I didn't even bother with Loreen, chose to dance with the bears in the beefmince tent instead and very glad I did (saw DUB in there too)

Jade the absolute highlight
Kesha not usually my thing but she was brilliant (and rumour is she went to the Eagle that night with Jake Shears)
Alice Chater put on a great show and has some great bops

Supersister were fun but did Coffee twice

Booty Luv were another highlight

Allie X was good in the dance tent but some annoying wankers dancing around me made me annoyed

Daniel Bedingfield felt a big tragic and mostly did new awful songs

The drag hour had Bimini, Danny Beard and Kyran - was shit

Due to clashes, I was annoyed to miss Una Healey and A Teens

Caught the two big Jo Jo hits and then had to endure a boring new song she did with Craig David

Marching in the Not A Phase trans pride rally was another highlight too and the general outpouring of love for the trans community was very heart warming across the whole of Hoopla
