Another stunning day. Lying out in minimum clothing in my back garden.

Sadly off to my in-laws soon, including two nieces and poorly behaved dogs. The BBQ should make up for it, but only just. Not the restful Sunday it should be.

I started on the front garden yesterday. My drive was full of mare's tail between the slabs and I've been worrying for weeks that it'll set on fire when I put the car on it. Getting shot of that took four hours and I didn't have any sun cream on. Woke up today with sunburned arms except for hands and forearms because I wore gloves whilst doing it, look like a not-right. Went out this mornng to start on the grass which has mare's tail thigh-high interspersed with brambles, did a bit and sweat was rolling from my forehead into my eyes so I've given up because it's far too hot.

Our estate is very quiet because everybody's watching the Bolton match at Wembley although a dog walker found a person's body hung from a tree this morning on the other side of the estate so that might have something to do with it, rozzers are everywhere.

Sadly the mares tail will probably be back in a few days :(

Oh I know, it's been a pain in the bum for twenty years. It's literally on all the pavements on the estate, up against garden walls (not mine any more though) and grows through the paving cracks. It's only this bad because the grass hasn't been cut for nearly a year after the electric mower burned out last year and I couldn't afford a new one so it just got half-hearted strimming. Got my shiny new petrol mower now and I'm hoping it keeps it under control like the old one used to, as long as it's cut every couple of weeks it beats it into submission. I managed to get rid of the Japanese Knotweed in the back garden, pretty sure it's still there lying dormant under the ground but it hasn't grown upwards for over five years now so I'm happy about that.

Well that was tense between the other side of the family. Thank God we were there to provide gay comic relief.

I just tried sitting out in it but couldn't bear it and gave up.
