Minor Celebrity DEAD (1 Viewer)

Famous for an anagram of his name being "shady wanker".

He was actually an important figure in the 80s - he did an awful lot to puncture the white Western concept of "world music" by making it clear that the music he was playing was from a city, in a country on a continent and would bristle when anyone talked about "African music" as if the entire continent has a single sound. He was however, a bad tempered, volatile sod to an extent only matched by his truly awful sister.

His final radio venture was basically a podcast from his kitchen but bands would come in and do sessions anyway. Says something I guess.

On balance, RIP.

Kathleen Dooley of The Dooleys

I think @lolly was a fan

I was indeed. The first concert I ever went to, after nagging my mum to take me at age 8 or 9. And they all signed my tour programme after.

Three top ten hits, this was my favourite. Kathy is in the black jacket.

Hot Chocolate guy died too.
To be a bit more speciic, this is Tony Wilson (no, not THAT Tony Wilson, he's been dead for ages) who left the band in the mid 70s. Errol Brown has been gone a long time too.

Dame SHIRLEY PORTER DEAD

GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH
My mother always told me if you have nothing nice to say then please do tell me because i love all the shit.

Shirley Porter - who should have been stripped of her honour title, was a crook. That is all.

I wouldn't normally be UNKIND about the DEAD but in this case I will MAKE AN EXCEPTION

I’m sorry but I don’t know who that is - so really was he ever alive at all?

I walked straight into the glass door of a shop once. It was so clean that I thought it was open!

Dreadful song, of course. And it knocked Fernando off #1.

Speaking of 70s chart-toppers, the lead singer from Dr Hook also DEAD!

I do have a soft spot for this sexist claptrap.
