Monday faces record fine for data breach

I have 3 weeks off and I can't remember the last time it was this cold in July. Better get my vitamin D order from iHerb in.
 
I get to work (late) and the and the shared pc isn't working and I need to use it. So I switch it on and go back to my desk while it powers up, go back over and type in the password and go back to my desk while it gets itself organized, whereupon DROOPY DRAWERS starts using it. She was probably waiting for someone to turn the fucking thing on. YOU JUST CAN'T GET THE STAFF

I have also been browsing properties while I have been laid up. Property back home is dirt cheap. I have 2 houses there at the moment but they are very popular for Holiday let’s, so I think I am going to sell this house and bugger off back home for a while as I am bloody fed up of the UK to be quite honest.
 
I honestly want to go at the end of this summer, but it's just not doable.
 
I want to go to Ireland and look for me ROOTS. Who doesn't want to get out of this country though?
 
I can get into Canada on the back of my dad's citizenship. I need some money tho' - there's a whole "no recourse to public funds for 10 years" thing.

Somewhere around Marbella this time. Ibiza was great, but it always felt a bit isolated, travel off the island in winter is difficult, and to be honest the novelty of the island shutting down for half the year wore off after a while, I know anywhere with a stong tourist industry will do that to some extent, but at least on the mainland we can just jump in the car and go exploring. Plus we are then a couple of hours from Sierra Nevada in the winter so can go skiing/boarding at the weekends, while having the sea and sun in the summer, it would be all our boxes ticked.

We're going to head out at the end of this summer and do some exploring, but Benahavis looks nice from what I've seen. I have also just seen a huge house in the campo between Marbella and Estapona, big enough to grow veg and stick on yurts or something to create a retreat type business. Just need to find £50k down the back of the sofa and I'd move there tomorrow.
 
Oh so you actually would like to move there (here)! I totally agree about Ibiza. And I understand why you're looking around Marbella or Málaga, you have direct flights from UK and your neighbours probably speak English too, but I don't get why anyone would choose the Mediterranean when they want a proper beach, because they're all shit. Maybe no big deal for you, but I mean in general. If you go to the south of Spain (several villages in Cádiz), you'll never go back.

Yeah, it was never my intention to stay in the UK after we left Ibiza but life just got in the way, however I'm really missing it as is Ron Jr (who mid UK winter asked us if we could go back to Spain because he was too cold!)

I wouldn't have dreamed of the costa del sol, because it seemed so cliche, but Marbella has Montessori schools, which is how we've gone with education so far, its not far from skiing, its easy to get to, has a decent ex pat community which is sad but inevitably comes in handy, especially for the boy, so it seems like a sensible choice. We did look further west but I want easy access to snow too. I'm greedy like that.
 
Yeah, I totally understand it, it ticks all the boxes. And that doesn't stop you going anywhere else for a weekend or so. I strongly recommend Cádiz, specially Bolonia-Los Caños- El Palmar- Conil, you'll love it, fantastic beaches in the Atlantic (you better avoid July and August).
 
I'd love to explore the north coast of Spain more.

Thing is when we moved to Ibiza I always had dreams of exploring Spain more but it never happened, so I'm hoping being on the mainland will change that.
 
OT: Is there a reason why members sign up but have zero posts? You don’t need to be a member to view content now, do you?

Aren't most of them spam? And sometimes it takes some time to break the ice and post. Family Fortunes feels like the perfect excuse to do so.

I have looked at a couple of people online and they have zero posts and have been members for YEARS. It just seems strange as if I didn’t want to post then I wouldn’t make a profile and log in. They may well be spam.

Well you never know, we had @.org around for ages and he seemed just spam, but after months of lurking our friend wrote a (normal) post.
 
We've definitely had times when you have needed to register to view. Perhaps some registered in those times.
 
Ah yes, that is another good point.

I wish they would just POST. :evil:
 
Oh we've ALWAYS had LURKERS. I think Marilyn lurked for a decade or something mad before posting.
