I am fucking knackered but just been out with the dog and there's a proper spring vibe in the air. Chirping birds and lots of sun. Hiya.

It's lovely and sunny here too so I might go for a swim in a bit. Albeit once the frost has disappeared off the roads.

In other news, I've got a lovely list of negative results back from my STD MOT, but I do have to pop back to have my syphilis checked again, so THAT'S NICE.
 
Is it still cold down South? We are almost in to double digits here. That NEVER happens. :o
 
I always hate coming home from a holiday in a nice clean modern place. Not that my place isn't clean, we hoover daily, but my god the pet hair!! I absolutely hate it and it always seems worse after a holiday with no pets.

Over the weekend I hoovered the living room, dining room, hall, stairs and landing and only had to empty the hoover bucket once, at the end. While dearest Ridley was around the living room carpet alone necessitated two empties of the bucket and the dining room was another three. It also took a fraction of the time it used to.

I feel like once heathcliff is gone I'll miss all his fur, and I feel mean for moaning about it. But a quick once a week hoover does sound amazing!

What hoover did you use when you had Ridley?
 
When I went travelling 15 ish years ago, I met some amazing people. But the ones that have remained my close friends were the ladies I met while I was in Thailand.

I then stayed with one when I was in Australia for 3 weeks, then a few of us visited her for Christmas.

She got diagnosed with breast and brain cancer about 5 years ago.

She messaged us about 4 months ago to say the doctors had stopped all treatment and she was on the last leg of life, she had 6 months left to live at most.

She's just updated her FB asking for help with some photos that she's preparing for her own funeral 😭 she's now been told she has just days left to live.

She seems so....ok with it. I honestly can't even imagine how she must be feeling :(

Oh I'd happily hoover up fur for two hours a day every day to have Ridley back now but I spent the previous 12 years slagging him off for how much hair he shed.

Originally I had a Dyson DC14 Animal then got a DC40 Animal when that died then last May I replaced it with a Shark Duoclean with anti-hair wrap and, no lie, it beat the shite out of the Dyson without breaking a sweat. I'd had Dysons since the late 1990s but it's Shark all the way for me from now on.
 
We've still not replaced our Dyson. I think it's a DC19 animal, but whatever model it is, it's obsolete and you can't buy parts for it any more. I've replaced various parts and attachments with cheap imitations from eBay, but none of them work as well as the proper parts.

When it finally dies I'll replace it with a Shark, but as we're a right pair of slatterns fairly comfortable rolling around in cat fur and dead skin flakes, I don't see it being for a while yet.

We've got a Dyson and I absolutely hate it. It's useless. We tend to use that as our daily cleaner and then use Henry twice a week. But I really want a shark!
 
The hole for where the Dyson sucks up dirt is so tiny, that we spend most of our time unclogging it :argh:

My mum has a stick one though, and it's crap. I think I could suck the room cleaner.

Yeah ours is a stick one. It actually spends more time blowing cat litter around the flat than it does collecting it.
 
As in ALL CLEAR, I don’t have to be re-checked for the SIPH.

Well, it’s only cause I’ve had SYPH before many moons ago- you always test POZ afterwards forever, so you have to have another, more specific test to check it’s not active.
