Howdy.

Sunny morning here now. Still windy and I got caught in a downpour on my way to work. Gah.

Yes, it's QUARTER TO TEN. THANKS FOR HONOURING US WITH YOUR FUCKING PRESENCE *slopes off for cup of coffee and gossip*

And this is the woman who called me LAZY because I can't be fucked to PRINT OUT every piece of work I do ON SCREEN and put it in the fucking FILING CABINET for her to get out and scribble on with her RED PEN at her convenience

On the whole, FUCK OFF!

:fuckoff:

Happy Monday loves. I’m working from home today.

Morning gang

three months into self inflicted unemployment I really should start finding a job

*goes for liquid lunch again*

Hi darlings. I am feeling rather chirpy for a Monday morning. I might go for a liquid lunch myself. :disco:

It would appear that the tenant in the downstairs flat (at work) has switched off the heating on the boiler which serves both his flat and our office. The office is like a sodding fridge, I'm working with my coat on and my hands are like little icicles. I've hammered on the door several times, his car's there so he must still be in bed. I daren't just let myself in to check it in case I scare him to death. It's one thing when they know who I am but he only moved in last weekend and I've never met him.

Actually can I have some WORK ADVICE?

When the new TOP BOSS took over a few years ago we all had a CHAT with him and I told him (in subtle terms) I was tired of doing all the boring work, tired of 20 years of being MICROMANAGED by MADAM and so on. He came up with some suggestions of different things I might do...all of which I presume were subsequently RULED OUT by a certain MADAM (who is married to my immediate boss and GENERALLY GETS HER OWN WAY).

In the end the TOP BOSS spoke to me and said that I'm stuck with doing what I do until some point in the distant future where they take on a new person who is familiar with that area of science (this is TOTAL BULLSHIT as I wasn't familiar with it when I started).

Anyway now the new-ish recruits are doing some of that work and I'm tempted to COMPLAIN. Not because I care who does the work or because I want to do it all (I do have some other things to work on now) but just on the PRINCIPLE that I was LIED TO about it. Should I MOAN or should I just SUCK IT UP as USUAL?

I am still chuckling @octophone’s the snu comment the other day. :D

I had no idea "The Snu" was funny, it's been on the go since at least when I was at school (the '80s!)

Do you think complaining would achieve anything? Apart from risking them giving it all back to you? :bruised:

It sounds as if you're snookered by the internal politics. You can point out that the situation has changed and ask if there is therefore any prospect of a review of the situation but I suspect an outright compliant would blow up.

Office politics is the worst. Some people never leave the friggin' playground.

Actually, there was a Xmas night out at one of my old workplaces (I didn;t go) and the boss's wife was wandering around picking on people and asking them "justify your job". That was quite the signal that all was not well...

Annieways let's get back on TRACK and on POINT

I disagree with others. Complain. In a structured fashion (during a review or something). If ever things get bad and you were unfair/constructively dismissed or something, formalising things like this are a GODSEND.

Uni strikes starts tomorrow. 3 weeks off. Imma gonna take a couple of days off as I've been super studious of late. Maybe a splash of gardening. Then get on with dissertation research, which will start with reading the autobiography of Danny La Rue :disco:

I was just finishing up bath time when the neighbour rang the bell to pick up a package. Mr Star went to answer and Kylie ran behind him. He stood at the top of the stairs naked as the front door was opened singing 'I was cold I was naked were you there? Were you there?' :D
