Morning. New phone incoming. First new one in four years.

That exciting!
Ooh what phone? I'm due an upgrade but there's nothing I like. I need one tho because mine does too fast.

We had to leave a passive aggressive note under our neighbours front door this morning.

For the millionth time this year they were blasting music so loud we could hear it two floors up. Mandy went down to speak to them and heard the dad say to the son "was that the door, are you going to answer it" and the son said no, and they turned the music up louder :manson:

My phone is getting slow and the battery is dying. It’s pretty much always a three year cycle with iPhones. I usually go for 1 generation before the latest one.

I had an android for my spanish phone and it was a traumatic experience. Dont know how people cope with it.

I have a Galaxy A10. It's fine apart from the odd glitch when I'm playing Angry Birds Dream Blast. I've never got 'into' mobile phones, they became a necessity and I reluctantly dragged myself into modernity.

I was due an upgrade earlier this year and nearly went to S23 (from S21). In the end I decided I'd be paying for a lot of features I wouldn't use, based on how I was using the S21, so decided to go for the A54 instead, which I bought outright rather than the contract I would have got for the S23.

All Samsung new models this year look essentially the same, even if the specs are quite different. It's quite confusing.

Same with Oppo. All very similar looking and apart from the camera spec, it all means very little to me.

I'm currently on SIM only as my phone works, it just needs charging multiple times a day. To upgrade I'm looking at about £45-60 a month 😭

The current Android cameras are truly insane. I can literally zoom into the apartment ACROSS THE STREET and watch TV with them. Last night they were watching a telenovela.

I looked on quite a few comparison websites and it's so easy to buy into the 'oh, but x is better' on the flagship model, but then I realised that I'd been paying a premium for that for years, and never actually using it for the majority of what it was capable of.

I knew I didn't want to lock myself into another 2 year contract I'd end up resenting massively after the initial 9 months or so, and preferred the idea of buying the handset - and absolutely couldnt justify the cost of the flagship as a one off payment, so I saved several hundred quid and downgraded.

Samsung's default setting does horribly oversaturate colour though, at least on my model. If I want a filter or an effect, I'll choose it after, thank you.

Here begins the roughly three month period of going home after work in the dark.

Stupid clock adjustment.
