Monday paints the windows white

BACK TO WORK.

Couldn’t sleep a wink last night, and it’s fucking FREEZING. What little sleep I did have included very intense nicotine patch dreams.

I’ve had to rush in aswell as my boss just text to say she’s leaving the office at 10am today. :D
 
Team meeting cancelled. That's a good second start to the year.
 
I resorted to pyjama bottoms for the first time this winter last night. What a fool for waiting so long.
 
Just dropped Ron Jr off for his first ever day in a proper school. Feeling very conflicted.
 
My office is freezing, so I’ve closed the door and am being antisocial.

“Only” 330 emails as I cleverly removed myself from all the central mailing lists I’m on before Christmas but then realised with horror that means all 330 are actually directed to me, meaning about 200 to actually deal with.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
 
First e-mail of the day took about 35 minutes to write.

GOD I WANT A FAG.
 
Despite the fact I started grafting again last week I can't be fucked this morning. Might go and drink tea and watch homes under the hammer for a bit.
 
Thankfully I took today off as my last day of holiday

I might phone in sick for the rest of the week

I've taken today off to avoid the latest stage of the office refurbishments and relocations AKA a certain someone STANDING AROUND DISPENSING ORDERS and CARPING only to get an email saying it's going to take ALL WEEK.

Thankfully I've still got 15 days of leave to take before the end of the month :disco:
 
Our car got raided last night by some opportunistic thief. I've just had forensics around :wired:
 
Happened to me a few months ago but despite having a decent car all I have to offer the opportunist is mud and a used tarp.
 
3 years ago today, at this exact moment, I was under anaesthetic having my fanny installed.

Last year I tried to get them to put me under for a couple of weeks just for a rest but the bastards weren't having it.

No nothing at all, there was nothing in there luckily! Really odd because he walks round the corner after midnight, into the car and rummages around, then tries the other car before trying the neighbours car.
Then at 3am he returns with a car, stops in the middle of the road. Back into our car for 2 mins then drives off again.

Weird. At least nothing's taken but it's still a worry that someone is driving about behaving like that in yr manor.
 
Been up since 6. Went to the gym, came home and dropped my daughter off for her bus to college, and my son at school. Came home took the dog out in torrential rain, and bagged up the masses of food still left and unopened from the festive season and dropped it off at the food bank. Cooked up a storm in the kitchen with some vegetable soup, and a pot of thai sweet potato and carrot soup. I am now sitting down and catching up with Call The Midwife. Not a bad start to the new year.
 
One of the girls down here has some of the worst tattoos I've ever seen. She looks like she took a mindfullness colouring book with her and said - "here, do that".
 
Woke up at 11. Have pretty much worked without break since then, aside from the obvious. I have never written an essay stoned before so I'll judge when I'm not stoned if its shit or not.
 
I’ve been to the gym twice today. I am about 11/10 on the smug scale.

The gym was also full of “New Year, New Me” people. I have to say I DID enjoy exchanging knowing looks to the regulars...WHAT HAVE I BECOME?
