Monday rides Rita: Queen of Speed

Morning all! Off to Alton Towers today! Expecting it to be mobbed so we bought a fast pass to skip the queues and get death stares from the plebs who are waiting 45 minutes for each ride and we get it done in 5 minutes.

What does a major theme park cost these days? Genuinely have no idea.

I went to Alton Towers in May and it was only about £30 each.

I'm debating popping into Tokyo Disneyland when I'm there in a couple of weeks, but I equally am not sure I can be BOTHERED. I'm not really a FAN but it feels like something I should perhaps do.

I've been asked to drive to MANCHESTERFORD AIRPORT to pick up Mr S's widowed sister-in-law who his parents have invited to stay ALL THE WAY FROM TAIWAN because HER CAT'S DIED despite the facts that they are COMPLETELY DECREPIT and share NO COMMON LANGUAGE with her

Being a theme park nerd I weirdly dislike fast pass. Without people "officially" jumping the queue you're making the normal queue way longer than it ever would have been (so a 1 hour queue today wouldn't be 1 hour if people weren't jumping ahead all the time). I was at a park in Germany that doesn't do any kind of fast pass and honestly the park was mobbed but no queue was over 30 minutes. But if you can't beat 'em might as well join 'em I guess.

Rather just go when it's not a weekend/school holiday.

Also I’ve come into my new job for a few hours, don’t officially start for two more weeks but my computer is missing half of the wires

Have you done Hyperia at Thorpe Park yet? I went last year and we unfortunately forgot that even though it was before the kids broke up from school, the 16+ crowd were waiting for their exam results. It was a 2 hour queue for that one ride and we were so exhausted at the end, we were just thankful to sit down on the coaster to ease the back pain

Tokyo Disney is absolutely amazing, but it sounds really daunting these days. You need to do some serious research on what rides to go on first and queue up hours before the park opens of you want to do everything (or at least most rides). Or just pay for Premier Access to skip part ot the queue.

I would pay to be honest, but it just seems what you’ve just said- daunting.
