Monday spends four months of the year in South Africa

Morning

The glorious weather of the past two days has faded and along with it, my mood. Work tomorrow- UGH!

It seems a lot more hazy here today rather than clear blue sky, but still gloriously warm.

And I'm glad I've booked an extra day off tomorrow for a mince around London.

I'm not 100% I can even work tomorrow, what with my hand. Although it does hurt less today. We'll see.

It seems just here that has crashed to 14 degrees. London is still in the mid 20s.

Boo- I was intending on getting in the sea again today but I don’t really fancy it now...

Still baking with crystal skies here.

Too bad I'm hungover and intend to be glued to the sofa today.

I lost all of yesterday's sun in A&E. I'm off to the park to go racial.

Speaking of which, can anyone recommend any good second hand record shops? I don't mind going a bit off the usual tourist track, but would prefer not to be raped and/or murdered thanks.

Got the mower going in record time, that petrol mower is over 20 years old now and it's running on 3 year old petrol. Whilst I was cutting the front grass (10 minutes maximum) three people walked past and made a comment so each time I had to stop the mower for them to repeat themselves. Every single one of them said "it's too hot to be doing that". No shit Sherlock!

@Sheena What do you wear when swimming in the sea? And do you taste sea water

I’ve never tried actual swimming in the sea before but I’m quite tempted this summer

Your Facebook post really got me going, Floppet. I had to restrain myself from replying inappropriately.

I love it. It's so good for my mental health- makes me feel so much better. I can see the sea from my flat so in the summer I get up, run across the common for literally 2 minutes and jump straight in. Perfect start to the morning. I recommend it thoroughly and all winter I miss it.

I go in in "skins", as the professional types call it-or basically just a pair of shorts. I am tempted to get a wetsuit and try carrying on throughout the winter this year, though. And yeah, you get a bit of sea water in your gob, but nothing too serious.

I'm guessing there's a difference between having a bit of a paddle and full on swimming.

In fairness, a friend of mine told me only yesterday that she has never been in the sea- she's 35, can swim and was born here! I found that utterly ridiculous!

Evidence from Saturday- which was bloody freezing!

One of these days I'm going to go crazy and just implement a bunch of (temporary) forums with any old suggestion, just to see what happens.

SU POLLARD FORUM NOW!

I don't know what you're on about. It's an innocent tag about marine life.

Or it's a cheap form of "bullying" people about their size.

Good job I know I'm fat and don't GIVE A SHIT, but again, I really didn't think this was how Moopy rolled in 2019. Hey ho...

:D

I’ve been in the sea but never went for a full on front crawl

It's a lot harder than you might think. Particularly if the water is cold. But DEFINITELY try it! I love it so, so much...

Yes the people I’ve seen go for a dip up here have all been wearing wetsuits, which kind of put me off but I guess the water is even colder here.

I've removed it, just because I can (note: not an admission that I posted it!)

Yeah, in winter I can't think I'm going to manage without one.

I'm also desperate to get a paddle board this year- I love it and a couple of years ago was going rather well after a few lessons, but got out of the habit, put on a bit of weight and struggled to even get up last year! This year I've been gymming and working on my core just so I can get my balance up to do it again.

I really miss that about back home. There really is nothing better than a good ole dip in the sea.

Ireland is even colder than here. Albeit with far more stunning scenery. The temperature OUTSIDE was 9 degrees when this was taken. The sea itself was far, far colder...
