Howdy.

When I walked out this morning, the first thing I saw was two coppers blocking a street. This being Glasgow, I immediately assumed someone was dead but it turned out there was a fire in the next street.
Looks like the Indian restaurant that was recently refurbished has gone up. Which is a downer.

Unfortunately when my route was diverted by a police diversion blocking a road on Saturday, it was a fatal stabbing of a 17 year old by a 14 year old. Grim times.

Kid got stabbed not far from me this weekend as well. Merry christmas!

There was an awful one here too just around the corner from me a couple of weeks ago. I had to walk past the tent on my way home.

My word the citylink was very very warm this morning

I was sweating on the bus and it sent me to sleep

We have a mystery person sitting in our department. apparently she's a new manager. The wonders of communication.

Nobody around here has been stabbed, because we're a nice city :)

Ashley and Knutsford are hardly the knife crime capital. Thats why its so shocking, we thought this sort of thing just happened to brown boys in london who listen to that hippy hop music. *clutches pearls*

We had a stabbing on work's street on Friday night. It was just two eastern European "friends" having a drunken scrap till one pulled out a shank and stabbed the other to death by all accounts. Lovely.

I'm working down my Bradford score as I was off this time last year. When I've got that down later this week, it's OPEN SEASON :disco:

I’ve only got four days this week then I’m off until 6th January.

And let’s face it, I already spent an hour this morning wrapping presents and another one dissecting the Christmas party, so y’know...

I'd planned to wrap up at the end of this week with Ron Jr and Ms Ron but fat chance of that happening now.

At the risk of jumping on the bandwagon, my boss was just telling me someone was (not fatally) stabbed on her street at the weekend. IT really IS the season.

I'm done till the 6th also on Friday, although there are whisperings we'll call it day on Thursday. Unfortunately I've got QUITE A LOT TO DO. Also as it's the Christmas party on Wednesday I expect Thursday to be a write off.

Unfortunately I've got a few projects going on in NON CHRISTIAN countries, so I expect there'll still be plenty of emails to ignore over the Christmas period.

On the subject of Middle Eastern clients, I've just received an e-mail from someone called JIHAD.

Oh it’s all FUN AND GAMES in here today with talks of stabbings and violence.

I am feeling rather GRIM today if I am being honest. It is literally black outside, and pissing down.

Meanwhile my boss popped in for 30 minutes. Then went to Pilates. Then out for lunch. Now he’s back he’s making a Christmas card.

He doesn’t understand why I’m so busy.

Sounds like my MUCH-ESTEEMED COLLEAGUE. She doesn't understand why (i) I want to KILL her and (ii) why her TIME-SAVING TIPS don't generally get a GOOD RESPONSE

Don't worry bbz, this time next week the days will be getting longer.

Summer here we come!

In fairness, on the boss front, I’ve been appalling today. Wrapped some presents, went for a two hour lunch break, had a phone call (work related but not WORK related) and then went home.

Not before making it very clear I’m leaving early on Thursday now too. :disco:

No point fucking your way to the top if you aren't going to use it.

My dad bought me a Bandcamp gift card for Xmas and he was generous with it too. Have therefore just paid £40 for a download, easily the most I've ever paid. It is, however, for the digital version of a 20 CD set. so still a bargain, yah?

Now to write the rest of my cards.

Been to see Frankie Boyle trying out some jokes to put in the New World Order end of year review jobby. Some crackers :disco:

I stopped with the majority of Christmas cards a few years back. I do still write a few for my family but that is it.

I've not written a single card so far this year. I will do one for my mother though.

I'm not doing many cards this year. Just written out the ones that need to go in the post. The only thing I like about Xmas card writing is that I get to use my gorgeous Montblanc fountain pen. I didn't even have to clean it out this year before using it because I did it last year when I finished writing with it and bought a new pack of ink cartridges ready for this year so I loaded the new ink and away it went.

I used to write loads of cards and sent them locally and half way around the bloody World. A few years ago I stopped. I actually came across a list from around 20 years ago when I was putting up the Christmas decorations and could not believe how many of them had sadly passed away. :(

I'm going to get off the internet and write my cards RIGHT NOW.

(back in about 30 seconds)

I was just watching Frankie on YouTube. He's so much harsher live than on TV. Which I obviously prefer. Amazing he's got through the last decade what with the cancelled trend.

My mum writes about 100 cards.

Yes, I reckon my mother probably does about the same.

I'm quite sure when we were children, we used to receive at least 200 as a family. Utterly ridiculous.

The house used to be covered. Hung from ceiling to floor. They still get a lot, but they end up in a pile. We do about 10 to 15 which covers family and close friends.

We still get a fair amount, because Mr L is still an avid card writer. For me, I couldn't be arsed.

I gave up cards about 20 years ago I reckon. Still get about 10-15 which is nice, but I’m never returning the favour,
