Morning.

One of my colleagues has returned from a 4 week self-isolation and he's moaning about everything already.

4 weeks? I hear you say? Yes, 4 weeks. He refused to come back after 2. Not my problem...

He's given himself a haircut and looks like he's been in a knife fight.

Mr L wears the fact that in 30 odd years of working for the same employer, he's done 5 hours overtime as a badge of honour.

You keep my outlet out of this!

Morning. Off for another day alone in the office. MEH.

Anyway, I managed to finish clipping my head today. Other than the nape of the neck not feeling quite right, I'm really quite pleased with it. And anyone who gets close enough to notice that can fuck off.

I've just dosed the cats up on catnip, and am leaving Mr L to deal with the fallout as I head off to work :disco:

I would love to be in the office. I have been pondering if it's still open, and if the beer pumps still come on at 3pm. *sigh*

Happy bday x

Just back from an early morning walk up a hill. The day will feel looong but it was worth it for the clear skies.

Watch out @The Sexual Goose - The Sexual Swan coming to a pond near you SOON

(I just need to work on my serene gliding, I'm already expert at the other bits)

So they’ve decided the best way of rewarding us for getting on top of our caseload is to make us do a load of additional processing jobs we’re not trained in and don’t understand. Oh, but they’re not going to train us or help us to understand. ‘Just read through them and work it out from there’. God forbid this is people’s lives and financial security we’re being asked to bludgeon. Shockingly, everyone is angry and productivity has dropped to nil because not one person in the office has any fucking clue what we’re supposed to be doing.

I try not to play the dyspraxia card too often but it’s out in force today. Give me full training and I’ll have a go. Don’t, and according to the outcome of my OH assessment I’m well within my rights to down tools.

What an absolute shower yr bosses are @ButterTart.

Put that ring-a-ding-dong thingy from A Song For Moopy on a loop and see who cracks first.
It’s the regional managers who’ve never dealt with customers before who have decided this is what we’re doing now. And they’ve come up with a fantastically inefficient way of handing out work which means there are about five people at a time working on the same thing and cocking everything up.
We’ve accomplished nothing today, and won’t until we’re allowed to work the way we were before.

I’m going to listen to the Croatian song to remind me there’s still beauty in the world.

Ah, the familiar sound of the woeful inadequate pissing off the useful. A common song throughout my own working life.

UGH. Mr Sheena is working at a hospital in London at the moment and they've just asked if he can stay on another day this week. It made me tear up a little bit- I don't like him being there as it is, to be honest. BOO :(

I had my first zoom pub quiz last night which was actually great, and I've been tasked with hosting this weekend :disco: I'm quite grateful to have ANYTHING to work on at the minute.

I've just had a nice walk around the park and ran into a friend of mine which was nice, had a quick chat with her AT A DISTANCE, which was much needed. I also found a place that does takeaway coffee, so had my first proper coffee in about a month which was glorious.

All in all a good day compared to the crippling anxiety I had all weekend from drinking too much and not leaving the house. Also my charger arrived!

We've had word of a SECRET MEMO going around my Uni, that they're unlikely to open again in September and if that happens then they're financially FUCKED.

I have a Google Meet meeting at 3 which usually means saying a quick hello before turning off my microphone and camera and sitting back while they talk in Italian for an hour and a half.

The downpoint of my week.

Well, the same is true for everything: what COULD survive an enforced closure into the autumn?

Camera in my phone has finally flounced and refused to even open. Bah. I mean, I'm not *that* bothered but it suggests it may be about to give up completely and getting a new phone will be a faff right now.

I hadn't even considered it. The campus is wall to wall brutalist architecture. It seems so invincible :(
