I used to have a client who'd call me pal. It was weird, nobody calls women pal.
The worst for me was when prisoners used to call me miss then, as time went along, it became ma'am. Mam is what a lot of council estate northerners from my area call their mum, I could never get used to it. One particular prisoner in the stores used to call me Bosslady or Mrs C (he lived on Mr F's wing and Mr F was called Mr C at work), I liked that.
