MOOPY ALBUM SYNC LISTENS #4 - ABBA - THE VISITORS - 8PM TUESDAY 28/04

I do resent this being on the album, obligatory Bjorn lead vocal or not.

SAUCY lyrics though.

I've always thought of One Of Us as cod reggae as well. It's why it has never hit my personal top twenty. Love some of the backing vocals here.

It's almost as if they tried a bit too hard to make it a bit lighter, sensing it would be a single.

It's just about good enough not to get skipped in normal circumstances. Best Bjorn vocal of their career?

They could have gone for some seven minute tracks and not bothered with 'Two For The Price Of One'.

I know Two For The Price Of One is objectively a dog’s dinner but it’s still about disappointment, with the prospect of mum waddling in at the end with her tongue lolling and bra akimbo, so I still give it a 9. Also that chorus is SPECTACULAIRE

WTF? A brass band after a line about meeting his mother? Oh, that's...difficult.

I hadn't heard this before Mamma Mia. It's heartbreaking.

Slipping. An "I'm sad because my child is going to school" midtempo really shouldn't work for this childless queen. But you can't argue with that vocal and that melody. If only it had been about a sexy hunk with a thirsty Insta account.

Context: Bjorn and Agnetha's daughter Linda would have been 8 at the time.
Friday's daughter Lise-Lotte (RIP xxx) would have been about 14. But Frida fucked off and left her with her father when she had a sniff of the big time, anyway.

Remember Like An Angel Passing Through My Room was the last track of the album. As the last track of the last ABBA album, I think it's pretty much perfect.

"Thinking about all those BEAUTIFUL VISTAS I could have taken shots of your butt in front of to sell skinny tea and douches, but now we're locked down, and your abs are fading..."

I guess it can relate to ALL SORTS OF THINGS.

Wasn't it Frida by herself in a studio?

It has the feeling of a lullaby.

I think Like An Angel is the only ABBA song which doesn't feature Agnetha on at least backing vocals. It's just Frida.

There are no instances of the same thing in reverse.

It has a feel of a song that should be listened to whilst flipping off a series of light switches.
