Moopy Album Sync Listens Suggestions

These seem to be going down a storm atm on Moopy and can easily carry on post lockdown.

So far we've done Kate Bush (Hounds of Love, The Sensual World), Bjork (Debut), Kylie (Impossible Princess), Air (Moon Safari), Britney (Blackout), Garbage (Version2.0), Mariah (Butterfly, Glitter), Robyn (Body Talk), Portishead (Dummy), Xtina (Bionic), David Bowie (Hunky Dory) and Madonna (Ray of Light)

Any suggestions?
 
I believe we have Gaga-Artpop, Pet Shop Boys-Actually, Erasure-Chorus and Prince-Purple Rain lined up for Tuesday listens. I would add something by Janet Jackson, maybe Control, to that list.

For Sunday listens, I remember suggestions of Massive Attack-Protection, Goldfrapp-Black Cherry or Seventh Tree, The Knife-Silent Shout and Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon.
 
I would probably do Behaviour over Actually but all whatever.
 
Apologies to @octophone if this steps on your toes, but it was already gathering momentum beyond your original topics.

Would love a Blondie sync (one of the lesser appreciated LPs of the imperial era perhaps - Eat to the Beat or Autoamerican), Liza - Results, or Lana - Ultraviolence.

I think Eat To The Beat would be a great one.
 
And a Sinéad album, although I'm not entirely sure which one. Think I'd probably favour Universal Mother.
 
Can we PLEASE have respect for others doing these in terms of timings? I'm looking at you @Jark .
 
What are you on about? As I said in the Glitter thread the day was suggested and people were fine with it - nobody even mentioned a clashing listen party
 
Ten Love Songs by Susanne Sundfør is a great shout.

I'd also echo a Pet Shop Boys album. Very would be my pick, but Actually and Behaviour could also work.

As a window into a particular corner of Moopy, Det gör ont en stund på natten men inget på dan by Lena Philipsson could also be interesting, but also could completely bomb. :D

Another foreign language experiment could be a Mylene Farmer - maybe l'autre or Anamorphoseé as they seem to be her imperial efforts?

No, Octy did not mention a clash. They said "we do syncs on Tuesday" but did not specify that there was one happening yesterday (WAS there?) and as far as I knew there was no schedule that we have to sign up to.

First of all stop misgendering. Second of all the clue was in the words "we already do sync listens" which suggests there was already a process in place. You knew the topics existed. If you'd read them you'd know there was a waiting list/ timetable.

@octophone I'm sorry, I briefly forgot your pronouns. I edited my post before anyone replied but then others decided to start a fight about it. No harm intended.
 
I'm irate for the same reason as Ag. You were told that we had a process and decided to ignore it. I can accept that the pronouns may have been an honest mistake, although I'm not entirely sure why you aren't similarly confused by which pronouns are used by all of the other women.

I think it was a mistake to do it on a Tuesday when we already have a Tuesday and Sunday schedule, even if octy hadn't started a thread - I think she often doesn't until a fairly short while before.

My personal preference is that any choices should be added to the list for those listens rather than extra ones being started, but then I was happy enough throwing extra ESC threads up. But can we at least agree that anyone desperately wanting to do another one (and surely we don't want to ORGANISE FUN too much) avoids those days in future?
 
@dmlaw Probably because my default setting is to assume everyone in this gay chat lounge is a gay man unless they have a female username like Kate or Rita. I barely frequent the non-music sections of this forum and don't know everybody's personal background or story. Raise it with the mods if you have a problem, otherwise this conversation is done. I've never intentionally misgendered anyone in my life, never will, have love for everybody and that's that!
 
Tuesday was used because I suggested it. It was to avoid the Karaoke stuff on the Monday and the Soldifestival stuff later in the week.

Genuinely, I had no idea we had a fixed a Tuesday and Sunday schedule for these things. And I have said sorry for that. I really wasn’t trying to step on anyone’s toes. But equally I don’t see why there couldn’t have been simultaneous (or back to back) syncs though. The Mariah one was very niche and didn’t really crossover to anyone outside of the lamb bubble anyway.

I traditionally wouldn't promote organised fun, but it's worked well on here in recent months. And if it works, why change it?

Besides we have a topic now. Come in here for any sync listen admin and requests.
