Nope, it's a different set of stories to Call Me By Your Name. The sequel is coming soon tho.

Enigma Variations is only of three books I’ve allowed myself to buy before reading all the un-read old books I own. I haven’t really figuered out if it’s the pre- or the sequel or even if it’a a short stories collection yet, but considering it’s a gay theme I think it would suit this book club?

I have a great gay themed suggestion, but the book only came out last week (so its still in hardback) and I don't want to wait before reading it.

I don’t like hardbacks. Actually this might be a topic of its own. I love paperback, especially the medium sized English paperback (the Swedish ones are usually smaller ”pocket size” ).

How long does it usually take until a book is released in paperback, are there any rules for such things?

If people don't mind then, I shall priorities the books that are already out in paperback and leave the ones that are only out on hardback till later on in the rota by which point they may be available on hardback.

Paperbacks usually depend on how much publishers expect to sell in hardback. If a hardback is doing well, they'll push it back, or otherwise bring it forward. It's all about the $$$

Oh it DOES piss me off sometimes when I buy second hand copies on Amazon and I get a shitty old edition that is WAY too heavily thumbed (particularly the '80s Atwoods) and then I end up buying it again and again only fork out the full price three crappy editions later from Waterstones o

When I write my novel it will HAVE to come out in those lovely Faber & Faber timeless Plath edition designs and yes I'm sure @jivafox will know what I mean
