A mere five years on from the rousing victory of Livin’ Dreamer’s ‘Joy’, I’ve decided we’re WELL OVERDUE another rate. What better time to reminisce about sun-kissed Balearic adventures and the wanton exuberance of youth than now, when we’re all trapped indoors and even thinking about a night out will get you reported to the police by that curtain-twitching old cunt at No. 11?
So what’s your poison? Trance? Euro pop? Trouser jazz? Perhaps you’ve been waiting for your chance to enthuse about tropical house because you’re an awful person with no taste? You’ll find no judgement here, just big, juicy bangers.
Just like last time, you need to nominate the songs we'll be rating. If there's enough, we'll cull the chaff with some semi finals before our FABULOUS GRAND FINAL.
THE RULES
- DM me with a list of up to 25 songs you’d like to nominate. This is just because I’m dyspraxic and having lists all over the show in the thread itself will twist my melon. You’re free to discuss your nominations and your opinions with everyone else. I will update the second post with a master list of all songs picked so far, as well as the link to the inevitable Spotify playlist.
- Each person can only nominate up to three tracks by a single artist (Although others can nominate more tracks by this artist, unless that artist is Madonna. Lol jk
, I don't consider Madonna an artist. Although I'll grudgingly accept as many nominations as Moopy choose to inflict upon us.)
-You can only nominate one version of a track (Although others can nominate alternate versions of it).
-If you are nominating a specific mix of a track, please specify. I’ll use the radio version unless told otherwise.
-If you choose a track that’s already been nominated by someone else, you’ll be given the chance to submit a different one.
So who’s going to win? Will GloWorm carry the trophy home? Does D.E.V.I.L spell 'victory'?
I want to start the semi-finals in June, so you have until the 30th MAY 2020 to DM me your lists. I’m not about to tell you what does or doesn’t constitute a ‘dance anthem’. If you’ve chosen something inappropriate or shit, it’ll be weeded out in the voting prior to the FABULOUS GRAND FINAL.
So that’s it. There’s no (no no no no no) limit to the number of people who can submit nominations, so don’t be shy. I can see it in your eyes, there’s something. Something you wanna tell me.
