I know I lost it a bit with this place last week. On one hand it's a refuge, on the other its maybe a little too involved atm.
 
I'm really enjoying Moopy at the moment, it's absolutely keeping me sane and giving me a break from life as it is right now.

That said I think we've got to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and a wide berth. A lot of cooped up time can bring out the worst in everyone. Each person will have moments when they will not be at their best. However in true Moopy spirit, we should continue with grace, and not hold grudges or continue disagreements. Understand that everyone is just doing their best to get through this time, and try and enjoy what the site is giving back to it's posters the best you can.
 
I'm not really sure what I can do. There were comments about bonus points and "controversial" decisions and such like through Round 1 and in Round 2 before we got to the videos. Also, these things run over several days and weeks - who knows how they'll feel tomorrow, especially right now.

Anyway, I still need some more items for the last round and I'm at work so...I'd better get back to it.
 
I think Alla is taking a few days. Hopefully, he'll be back and feeling better soon.
 
Alla is two weeks further into lockdown than we are, isn't he? Fuck knows what we'll be like then. I know my mental health has taken a definite downturn in the last few days.

Yeah, I think he’s really feeling the strain of late, and it was the comments more than the points that upset him. I think it just deflated him when he’d focused so much of his energy into this.
 
Think of it as Eurovision alla, every year the UK put a lot of effort into their entry and yet we get 1 point. But we still carry on :disco:

I'm just going to post a brief version of what I said before I (well, I assume it was me :square:) accidentally deleted it.

I think calling Alla/us "desperate" was a bit mean spirited and the wrong side of fun to be fair. The work put into it (not us pissing around with bananas obviously) was huge and he put the ket joke in there as a jokey reference to you @big ron, so calling it "desperate" wasn't exactly the nicest response. Yes we're all a bit sensitive at the moment and maybe (maybe) it wouldn't be so bad under normal circumstances but it was a bit too harsh. Also he was convinced you'd put us bottom of the list because he thinks you hate him - and so it came to pass, which won't have helped.

I understand that you might well have ranked us bottom on the basis of song/vocals alone and fair enough if so, but the comments made it feel different. I don't know how you intended it to sound but I can understand if Alla is upset about this.

Apart from that it was a fun game and this really shouldn't stop it happening again!
 
I think that it’s true both offline and online that games aren’t fun when people take them so seriously that they have strops. This particularly edition of Scavenger Hunt has had tantrums throughout, and it’s kind of made me feel a bit shit for Octy who has had to weather these diva storms.
 
I once took an Australian (EX) boyfriend to cwej’s friend’s house to play some board games, and the combination of drink and cwej led to my ex drunkenly locking himself in the bathroom and refusing to come out because he said we were all ‘European arseholes’ for knowing so many general knowledge facts in Trivial Pursuit :D I was MORTIFIED.

(Trivial Pursuit is a terrible game though)

Apart from this (which I still understand being a little upset over and not because I was on Team 5) has there been anything that bad? All the "that's not a sandal, OH YES IT FUCKING IS" stuff has all been competitive but light hearted fun, no? Unless I'm forgetting some truly terrible meltdown
 
I think most of my strops were largely comedy based. That's not the same as someone who is feeling quite vulnerable at the moment being upset about a quite brutal dismissal of something that they had worked hard on.

And I think this is it, I feel bad for Alla if this has really upset him - I certainly know how it feels because in the last Scavenger Hunt one of the judges gave my FEATURE FILM a 5/10 and said it was try-hard after I spent hours making it :oi:

But you can be sympathetic to Alla without then accusing big Ron of being mean. He delivered hammed-up critiques that were meant for light entertainment. He’s a Dannii Minogue not a Natalia Kills :D

Did that happen? If my award winning debut single We Didn't Start the Fuego (available on request from the Crown Prosecution Service) had been slagged off I would absolutely have taken my ball and fucked off home. It's not being precious, it's that feeling of humiliation at putting yourself out there and being slapped down.

As I said to my team privately while having a group wank over a burning effigy of that conniving slut big ron in our forum, I don't think it was malicious on ron's part - I don't think he's that sort of person AT ALL - I just think the tone was massively misjudged given the nature of the thread and it made me uncomfortable reading it. As ROM said, we genuinely weren't being desperate as we already assumed we were out, the references were there to make him laugh and I think being so misread probably got to Alla.

In his defence all of this happened before he became a mod. I can vouch for his impeccable behaviour over the last 24 hours - hardly any money has gone missing, and the hostages were all released with only superficial amputations.

I’ve just had another similar memory - one time me and some members on here each did our own performance of a Eurovision song and I put together a mix of Have Some Fun (Czech Rep 08) with Statements, called Have Some Statements. During the performance I got @Tetris-Rock to repeatedly circle me and hit me with her backpack (couldn’t find a handbag) as I read out the emotional lyrics.

Some monster gave this artpop a 1/10 and said he ‘didn’t understand it’ :oi:
