PERSONALLY it looked genuine to me and it was all in French. Plus it was penny asking him through a non moopy medium for some Guardian Angel saves and DC wasn't always around the night modes so it stands up that he night have text/WhatsApped him whatever the app was. So I found that it was genuine.

Hence why I'm surprised it's taken this long for the mafia to kill him.
