It worries me that you were left to feel this way but I hope it’s filtered through since this May that there’s a genuine commitment from the mod team to being more aware and responsive to situations like that. Moopy’s been such a massive help to me throughout lockdown I’d hate to feel there was anyone who feels marginalised or unsupported here.
Apart from the Mariah fans, I mean, but I’m establishing a Mariahphobics Anonymous group for those with a particularly strong aversion to formless squeaking.
 
Given the make-up of the site, the candidates list is looking much as I expected as at right now. Would be more than open to some surprises.
 
I've been reconsidering whether to put myself forward. Moopy has got me through some proper shite over the years for which I will always be grateful, as well as all the lovely people I've "met" on here and I want to give something back if I can. Obviously Octy's your technical lady but I'm thinking maybe we could use a gobshite female to back her up when the testosterone hits the fan in the mod forum.

My main worry is that I'm unable to be around during the day Monday to Friday other than dropping the odd sneaky stealth-post when work allows and then I have other stuff to do in the evenings and weekends so I'm really not sure that I can devote a reasonable amount of time to it and would feel awful if I got it over Soldi or ZenGiraffe when, let's face it, they've been very active lately and are more than willing to put the time and effort in and I feel like all I did to contribute during lockdown was took part in the Scavenger Hunt. I haven't specifically named VoR, big ron or Iguana in this bit because I reckon they're all shoo-ins. I wouldn't want to be voted in at the expense of somebody who wants to put the effort in and then be castigated down the line for not pulling my weight, as it were. Every time there's going to be a vote somebody will ask Indie to give them the stats and I'm going to look like I'm just doing it for all of the glory and perks. There's always the worry that I'm going to do something wrong and completely bugger it up because that's what usually happens when I try to do anything with computers.

So I'll stand for mod if you all promise not to have a go at me if I get it because I'm technologically incompetent/hardly ever here/don't know who some Eurov*sion person is/break the site. That's assuming anybody would vote for me in the first place after I've just laid out my utter shitness and a multitude of reasons not to vote for me in this post :D

Floppet, I hear all your reservations. But like people have said, you need no technical ability to mod. You'll learn to split/merge/move posts as easily as you learned how to make a post. Have a play with it for a few minutes and you'll be fine.

And it's true that others are around more than you and may do more of the modding stuff - but if we've got a lot of mods, we'll be well covered in that, anyway. What I think you'll bring is a different approach and perspective when it comes to discussions and storm in a gay teacup dramas. And that's something we need.

He's only had 6 months exposure to moopy so far though. We'll have achieved full bitterness by Christmas.
 
If you need the numbers for a vote I'll stand. I don't care if I win or lose.
 
If we have 7 to vote for ill just do a simple vote of confidence vote, which will just be a yes/no against each person. If each person gets more than 50% yes, then all 7 go through.
 
Fully expecting Suomi to drop the manifesto to end all manifestos at about 11.30pm.
 
Come on guys, put your money where your mouth is and stand for election :o

Otherwise forever hold your peas and don't moan about anything.
 
Suomi was slaughtered during Iguanavision, he’s just 3 child hostages on top of each other in a trench coat now.
