I still have 18 days holiday to claim this year, might just not show up for a month.

I was meant to have the last week of October off but that’s now been PUSHED BACK.

Well I'm on the verge of a NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. Biggest client have massive new opportunity opening up and have placed a £55k (!) job with me to see if I can handle it...

...WHICH IS GOING MORE WRONG BY THE MINUTE THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN.

I literally have worked 7am-10pm every night this week and now I'm just at the "OH FUCK IT, I CAN'T EVEN BE ARSED" stage at my computer in my office.

I've got up, made coffee, come back to bed with three cats, and think I'll have a couple of hours of audiobooking before I get up. Then I think I'll have a potter around the garden and plant the last of my bulbs.

On the subject of audiobooks, Spotify's new offer seems pretty good. I'll have a proper look at what they have got, and think I can probably pause my audible subscription for a few months at least.

I keep meaning to get more into audiobooks - I love an audiobook read by the author. But I'm still holding out on Spotify and Audible uses a weird file type that I can't export to my phone.

I struggle with audiobooks in the same way I do with podcasts, I just lose focus or my attention wanders due to something interesting I've heard. Yet when I read, I'm entirely focused and switched off to anything else.

I'm the same, I can literally only listen if in driving or out for a walk. I've tried in have background at work but found I wasn't taking it in at all.

Most of my audiobook and podcast listening is while I'm travelling or walking, for that reason. I have to have nothing else I could feasibly doing, or else I'll get distracted and do that. Reading demands more of you, so you have to give yourself to it.

But today I had about an hour left of a book I wanted to finish, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity on a morning where I had nothing else I had to do for a couple of hours.

I've tried loads of different environments, I'm just shit at them.

I'm the same. I can listen while playing a mindless puzzle game on my phone too. But not while working or doing anything that I need to also think about

Well that's my two day week over. Curry and then off to my mate's for TOO MUCH WINE
