Whilst I didn't vote for Onky Love Can Break Your Heart on the strength of this "remix", it does have that classic stream of conscious fantasia that made early 90s Saint Etienne so whimsical, peculiar and distracting.

Fragma, Phats & Small and White Town were a point away from qualifying.
 
Eiffel 65 have no place in a best dance countdown. I don't think I've ever made it through that song intentionally. Their remix of Gala's first single Everyone Has Inside was marginally decent I guess (a rather drab song that somehow got to #1 in Italy).
 
I never really expected it to qualify but I'm sad that Dave Spoon didn't make it. It's a great song.
 
I had never seen the video for Vitality before this and it was hilarious, so thanks to whoever nominated that.
 
No Deee-Lite is a bummer, but it's not a well known nor has it overcame their status as one hit wonders. If we got to watch the video, then they really amped up the production and Kier is a fucking goddess in it.
 
Sterling Void is a bigger surprise. It really delves deep into my soul, it's one of the most stirring songs I've heard. It could go on forever.
 
All n' all, I don't think there are huge casualties or major surprises. That Forver song proof that most commercial trance from this time simply hasn't aged and doesn't have much soul (compare it to the real trance Maestros Paul Van Dyk, Matt Darey, etc).
