Moopy's Greatest Dance Anthems - Semi-Final 5 - closes TODAY @ 6pm

I’ve had an exciting idea for the final. Once I’ve got all the votes in, I’ll count down numbers 200 - 141. After this, I’ll ask people to rate the top 40 and do a fabulous gala final show for them. I feel like that will give us a truer picture of Moopy’s actual favourites.
Does that sound like too much effort? I’m more than happy to just do the rankings with a top 40 show based on one round of voting, otherwise.

I thought this would incorporate both the ranking system we’ve already been using, plus the rating system which - as Ag said - will probably yield a more accurate result.
 
Are you thinking a basic "everything out of 10" rate for the top 40 or a quota of points like you mentioned before?

Possibly rate all of these out of 10, with the chance to give one a 12 and another a 15. Something like that.

I’m just mindful of dragging it out in case people just want it over with.
 
Do you mean 200-41? think rating a top 40 will be good as with more you'll still get people not voting for songs based on the assumption that they'll get enough votes elsewhere. For example, I've not voted for N-Trance's Forever (Voodoo & Serano Edit) as that's just a sure bet for the final.

Yeah, so we vote on the final 200, I reveal the placings of numbers 200 - 41, and then everyone sends me their rates for the top 40, which I’d then reveal in a Friday night YouTube gala.
 
Phew .. your post said countdown 200-141 :D .. I don’t mind if ranking if it’s only a top 40.

Will you also reveal how the top 40 would have originally finished too?
 
All this talk of Donkeypunch last week made me remember another god awful movie with a stonking soundtrack, i dont think any of these got nominated.









Though it did also yield us with this god awful offering too. :rolleyes:

as much as i loved a bit of Venga-cheese, this was immense .. I remember it being absolutely caned by some top DJ's who seemed quite embarrassed with the association. Airscape really did transform it, i don't think it even had any similarity to the original song. :disco:

Mystery Land was on my shortlist but got culled last minute. Was Watergate's 'Heart Of Asia' on the soundtrack too, or was it just released around the same time?
 
Anyway, tonight we have 'shit I would have nominated'. This has been on my super-playlist for ages but I only listened to it properly for the first time earlier and I had quite the moment to it.
 
@ButterTart how are you planning on doing the voting for the final (BEFORE the top 40 bit)? Just wondering how many I can safely delete from the list so far...

Basically you'll be picking double the amount you did for the semis. 50 songs, with the following points:
5 of each: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10
1 of each: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20
