Moopy's Greatest Dance Anthems - The Results Thread

Olga's equator stretching grin and legs and dreads both even longer was absolutely the correct decision for fronting the project. It doesn't seem nearly as corrupt and ridiculous as what Black Box did.

"Groove Is In The Heart" is a fucking CHOOOON but it belongs in its era. It actually sounds a wee bit weedy today.

I'm sure this was a party fave when I went to indie nights in the mid 90s.

‘What Is Love?” however... :disco:

(That’s Deee-Lite NOT Haddaway)

Qualifier no. 3 is Motiv8 - Rockin' For Myself.

Scraping into the final at no. 39, this had a bit of a late bloom and at first looked like it didn't stand a chance.

Kept off the #1 spot because of a rather silly rule that if 2 songs tie, the song already #1 would remain there.

This is more fucking like it. Motiv8 basically recreated gay dance pop music for the 1990s.

Rockin' for Myself is so usurping. It exists in a different guise as Gina G's re-worked Rhythm of My Life, but this is huffed and puffed by someone who has more than half a lung of vocal prowess of course.

I dont think I voted for this. Their work with Dannii was seminal.

I don't feel Octy is going to enjoy very much of this competition :D Are you on the booze at least?

Angie Brown of course went on to successfully sue Heather Small for claiming she invented black woman's torso. She won a life time supply of yellow mohair and never looked back.

This one scored from the majority as well. My favourite of the night so far.

Urban Cookie Collective - The Key, The Secret. Came in at a surprisingly lowly 22nd place.

I don't care that much for The Key The Secret either. I liked the accompanying album HOWEVER.

That Motiv8 one is EVERYTHING AND MORE. One of my favourite songs ever and ‘Rockin’ for myself... Rockin’ for myself’ over the chord change at 03:17 is LIFE ITSELF :disco:
